Q's Winter Wonderland (WW) is added to the game every Christmas time and is a nice break from the more "serious" tone of the rest of the game.

Access
Access to the WW is via talking to Q himself, who can be found in several locations for each faction to gain access to him. For Federation players he's on ESD, for KDF he's at First City, and for Romulans he is at New Romulus Command.
He's easy to spot as he's sat on a big throne.
Speaking with Q will give you options to be teleported to his winter realm he's created.

Daily Event Reward
The daily event reward will give you progress towards the free T6 ship which is given away during the festive period. This is usually a pretty good ship and a great free option if you are new and lacking top end ships.
To earn the daily event progress you must complete one of the appropriate games within the WW:

•Fastest Game on Ice
•Tide of Ice
•Cones of Conduct
•Klingon Ice Fishing

Progress is automatically added after you complete a game. Once you have the final ship reward you can keep doing the daily event to earn increasing volumes of dilithium.

Wonderland Gear
None of your regular items will work in the WW. This means you need to get yourself some new gear to have the most fun.
Until you have any of the WW weapons you’ll be stuck using snowballs that you pick up from various piles of them lying about the WW arena.
WW items are bought using a variety of ornaments you earn from the different games here. You only need a few to buy a weapon and they can be bought on the exchange, and many fleet members will have spares they'll help you with if you are really stuck.

All the weapons here are just novelty versions of the main game ground weapons, so you'll have a rough idea of what you like.
There are several WW style kit modules as well which can be used in the various combat mini-games. These are bought with the same festive tokens as the guns.

Note: There are Winter Event themed kit modules and weapons in the event store, but these will not operate in the WW arena as they are for use elsewhere in regular content.
These items include special designs of Bat’leths, winter/ice-themed kit modules, winter/ice-themed boff training manuals, starship equipment.

Fastest Game on Ice

This is a single player race against an NPC opponent and takes place on the main track running around the lake at the middle of the arena.
The race mission selection is the Breen in the central hub area behind Q, the start point is the gazebo down the steps from the main central hub area with a Breen standing on it.
You must cross the finish line before the NPC opponent, but they move quite slowly so are little threat.
What makes it harder is that it’s on ice; so you slide a lot. Going out of bounds off the track will disqualify you and you need to restart the mission.
In order to stop your slide momentum, you can roll, which stops you dead once exiting the roll, or you can jump and let go of the movement keys at the same time which has the same effect.
Then realign yourself with the route and start running again.
With some practice you can get good quite easily. One good thing is the track is always there so you can practice any time you want.

The route below shows a reasonably simple route to take consisting of mostly straight lines. Section 1, 2 and 3 can be taken almost entirely in straight sections over a long distance with minor steering only; this cuts off a huge amount of time and gives you a big lead.



Items that may help you out for the race include:
• Frosted Boots for extra speed, but less traction.
• Counter Command Reputation Armour which gives a short speed boost on rolling.
• Turing into a snowman via use of a Frigid Lump of Coal which removes all slipping.

Remember to turn in the mission when you complete the race!

Tide of Ice

A fairly long and intense lane/tower defence combat mission located at the south-western corner of the arena map.
You must defend the gates to the WW from Assimilated Snowmen (Snorg!) who swarm down the 4 lanes from the map edge.

There are 2 bridges on each lane with and ice wall and a turret that will slow the Snorg but eventually they will batter them down if not stopped.

When the mission starts remember to click the Join Battle button!

With a full map instance on this mission is can be fairly easy to stop anything escaping as there’s plenty players.
When the number of players is low, only 2 lanes are active.

Simply use anything in your WW arsenal to stop the Snorg! If you get hit too many times by them you’ll be temporarily frozen in place and be unable to fight.
The Snorg spawn up the top of the lanes up the hill and will try to get to the gate at the bottom.

There are 10 waves and the final one includes a Snorg Queen to defeat who spawns at the bottom of the lanes.
At the start of round 6 additional Snorg will spawn half way down the outer lanes as well.

Cones of Conduct

This is located at the Gingerbread Village to the north-east of the map.
Angry snowmen are attacking the village and you must defend it from them.

The first part of the mission will involve you gathering resources to power up the village’s defender; the Snowconian.
• Shaved Ice is collected from the lumps of ice stuck to the side of the houses or as a loot drop from defeated snowmen who try to hinder your efforts.
• Syrup is collected from the piles of candy that are lying in various locations around the village.

You’ll see 2 meters at the side of the screen for ice and syrup; showing you how fully powered up the Snowconian is.
Once both are filled the Snow Overlord will appear and attack the village; starting the second phase of the mission.

The Snow Overlord will fight the Snowconian, freeze houses with his ice breath, and summon armies of snowmen to fight the players.
You can shoot the Overlord but weapons do only 1% of their normal damage; it is up to the Snowconian to defeat him.

Players should concentrate on gathering ice and syrup which will heal the Snowconian in the fight, and fighting off the snowmen that spawn in to hinder the players. Ignore the Overlord.

If all the houses in the village are frozen by the Overlord the mission fails.

Doff assignments for winter wonderland currency: during winter wonderland there are some special Doff assignments available that reward 'winter currency'. They are not only at the actual winter wonderland, but there should also be a couple at Earth Spacedock and Academy maps (Fed players) and First City and Klingon Academy maps (KDF aligned players). Using Q's teleport you can quickly move between 'home base' and wonderland so it takes no time at all to queue all of them.
