This thread is for the pre and post discussion of the Season 4 episode "Stormy Weather" - this will be a spoiler filled discussion so if you've found your way past the warnings in the activity stream and the spoiler tag on the thread, this is your last chance to turn back, or at least it will be at the end of this first post. With the announcement that CBS pulled Discovery from a uniform international distribution until early-mid 2022, I'll keep making the threads for those that can see it, but I'll not be including polls for this season.
The Discovery ventures into a subspace rift left behind by the anomaly to continue the search for answers, whike Booker receives a guest from his past.
Some promo shots of the upcoming episode can be found here. This episode see the return of Trek Veteran Jonathan Frakes who takes up the directors chair once again.

Bit of a trivia titbit - the episode confirms that there is a USS Enterprise in active service and it's working alongside Voyager, but what class she is and her registry letter is not revealed as the ship remains unseen.

I've not watched the episode yet, but she must be nearing S or T by this point, as we know she was on J in the 26th century.

So the DMA is of extra galactic origin, wonder if its the Kelvans, they could be trying to make a wormhole connecting the 2 Galaxies so they can evacuate quicker, or perhaps its some sort of intergalactic version of the Federation trying to make first contact but something went horribly wrong and the DMA went fritzy when it went through the Galactic Barrier. Either way this is intriguing, hope they don't fumble it like the Burn plot.

are you sure they are not referring to previous Enterprises such as the D and the Original Voyager?

are you sure they are not referring to previous Enterprises such as the D and the Original Voyager?
Yes, because they're referencing sensor data that the 2 ships picked up from the amonaly. Saru mentions that Voyager was charting particles and the Enterprise was detecting heated plasma.

"In reviewing of Starfleet records of similar encounters" is the start of that sentence. so i'm 100% sure Saru's mentioning past events and not this particular anormaly. Which are direct references to past TNG and VOY Episodes

I wondered if this referred to past shows too and not necessarily Disco's present time period peers. Kind of ambiguous.
I'm also wondering if they might be queueing up a tie-in to Picard's evil artificial lifeforms, as they I believe were extra galactic too. Without the beacon, it could be the artificial lifeforms had to travel slowly to the Milky Way. I'm hoping for something more original, but recent interviews have asked about crossover possibilities and they do seem to love calling out other Trek shows.
