I want to see Jonathan Frakes direct the next Star Trek movie (Kelvin).
So the Eugenic wars did happen (1992-1996)
The story with Dr. Soong and Q, gave me vibes about the scene from "Into Darkness" when Kahn cured the daughter of a Starfleet personnel in exchange for blowing up the star fleet installation in London.
Did Rios, Seven, and Rafi violate the prime directive?
I also found an article by Witney Seibold, who heavily criticized the episode and the series in general. something she wrote resonated with me.
the most disappointing aspect of most of the newer "Star Trek" shows is that they are devoted more to scenarios than to ideas. Very occasionally a show like "Picard" may pay lip service to Gene Roddenberry's notions of an idealized future wherein war and prejudice are behind us, but more often, the writers busy themselves with mayhem.

Interesting episode.
The dates for the Eugenics War still seems to be open to debate as it clearly wasn’t any kind of open warfare by the looks of things but we are seeing the beginnings of it with what Soong’s work is all about. Unless it’s been going on in the background for years already but you’d think somebody like Khan would be pretty well known considering they are supposed to be in control of near half the planet by now!
Still no idea what Q is up to other then maybe he wants a new body or some augment type upgrades? But he’s not a normal physical life form so no idea how that works.
Aldo not sure why he’s trying to stop the Europa mission at the same time as messing with genetics in a totally different plot point.
I did notice one of the guys on the council that banned Soong’s work was an ancestor of Worf’s adoptive family. Fun little Easter egg there.
The Borg Queen is still terrifying as ever; even as she “dies”. Be fun to see where this goes!
