I installed STO last night to have a go again. I have not played for a couple of years so my setup is outdated and i could need some help setting up a New setup within my budget or get a confirmation if my setup is still viable.

My setup:

Faction: Klingon
Class: Engineer
Ship: Eclipse T6
Setup: Antiproton Beam Array XIV/XIII [CrtD] x3 [CrtH] (Epic/Ultra Rare)
Credits: 7,5 mil
Level: 61

Right now they have the Delta Recruit event on if you do not have one I advise creating one for each faction you get bonuses that in the long term will help you if you don't have them already.

you should be able to make your build viable to use while you work towards changing or making it better we have a few builds in the builds section that you can check out the best thing to know to allow us to advise more would add a few screenshots to your post of traits build specialisations and so on again what you see in the builds section on saying my builds thread or bridges will give you an idea of what to include.

Technicans for A2B Cooldown reduction

This is a means of reducing the time it takes for bridge officer abilities to recharge. Equipping 3 technician duty officers and hitting Aux to Battery repeatedly cuts down the cooldown of all bridge officer abilities; it lets you use them more often (in some case near continually).

It's not "essential" per se, but some basic form of cooldown reduction is a good idea because it lets you use all your powers more often and therefore be more effective in combat.

The method Bridger mentioned works well for your ship because its a cruiser with an overabundance of engineering seats so can spare one to fit A2B on it.

There's a whole host of other means of doing the same thing via different bits of gear, traits etc.

3 Technicians as below you can farm them at B'trans doff mission that can take some time but essentially they free or buy on the exchange they about 5/6m for blue and 15/20m for purples or you can look at the trait the Boimler effect for cooldown that's the 200 lobi or 80m on the exchange



I put together a similar build to this last night and was getting between 50-70k DPS on it, what's your goal with it to bump your DPS more or do you just want to be viable in runs

So tested my build again this morning getting 112k in a pug run its a foundation that you can build on this is using 4 herald AP and 1 Delphic and the 2 alliance ship consoles with 1 SRO 2 Vanguards 1 Krenim and Mr Potatoe head himself the Hierarchy mission Boff.

If [Antiproton] is a conscious choice and not a case of, "It's what I have," the Ba'ul Beams are superior. Mk XII beam arrays can be had for about 8 million EC each. As a long-tim AP player who started with the Heralds, I recommend the Ba'ul beam array, torpedo, and both of the omnis.

Same as above but with slightly better gear in phaser flavour and the Eclipse as a Fleet version at T6X you can push it to 167k DPS This one needs some more specialised traits but gives you an idea and with work you should get better and push it past the 200k mark this is just a quick mash-up with what I have on that toon who is normally my Tank toon.
