Lots in this episode Genetic Modifications, Eugenics, Khan, Una and La'an fighting
My takeaway from this one is that it covered prejudice and did it in a very clever way.

Yeah, another well-done episode. A nice head-fake on the disease reveal making it look like "naked time" as I joked above only to quickly change directions to show it really wasn't that disease, and a lot more backstory progression for several characters with a clear message about the faluts of prejudices and stereotypes without feeling overly heavy-handed about the topic. Looking forward to next week's episode.

Another absolute banger of an episode. Felt lots of emotion throughout the ending.
I love how every episode is putting a spotlight on a handful of crewmembers so we can get to know them better. And how heckin' calm-and-cool is the Aenar engineer? The man oozes competence. They did a great job making him look so alien, too, he's a little unnerving almost. Love it.
I think Una was well done, too, really liked the portrayal. Her questions at the end, about how accepting the crew would have been of her had she not been heroic and saved them all ... were almost chilling. I appreciate a character with believable inner doubts and vulnerabilities.
Pike is the most wholesome Trek captain. What an absolute good guy. I love how he has real steel in him when it comes to protecting his crew, but the rest of the time he's so friendly and approachable. Great leadership qualities.
Good role models in this show. Genuinely in love with it.

when I saw the title for the episode my trek brain went "oh its about Una/Number One" I knew she was an Illyrian, I'm sure it was in one of the expanded universe of novels. Loved the episode though, again can't wait for the next one!

The episode is good but continouety is gone for good and does not fit episodes that play in the future.
Anyway I know the name of the Crew and I enjoy watching them so far.
