Training for players who haven't been in UFP RP DIVISION before consists of passing one mission created to test their knowledge of their chosen focus. Whether your choice is COMMAND, ENGINEERING, SCIENCE, or SECURITY you will be challenged within a controlled scenario developed by the very best within the ARES Command team. The main goal of the test is to prove that the player character is able to learn exactly how to perform their tasks under pressure for each position or chosen focus.
There is no limit on how many times you can take the test, and once passed you do not need to take the test again if your player character dies once he graduates from Cadet Training. However if you do decide to take it again for a new character you can begin as a Lt Junior Grade rather then an Ensign. The Cadet Training Test is not long in duration. Your player character will be tested on the fundamental aspects of their chosen focus in a pressured situation of Roleplaying.
Some players may seem intimidated by playing within an RP environment in which they do not control the antagonists and that is understandable. However, the real challenge in ARES Rp is to develop problem solving skills within a collective Roleplay environment. In time each Starship crew will develop their own unique, but unified chemistry and when that occurs overall immersion for everyone who chooses to embrace the challenge will greatly be heightened.
