So, I have spent a ton of time and money (at least to me) on building Jessica. Got the Legendary 2409 pack, boosted, fixed up the Caelian, then changed to the Voth Bastille only to have my long-time dream come true.
The Horizon class research vessel is my favorite ship style in the game. Love how it looks and yet, the best it was ever offered was a lame tier 5 option. I was stunned when I came across the new Fleet Olympic Miracle Worker Research Science Vessel which came out with the latest First Responder Bundle apparently, and has the Horizon variant as an option! They finally made my dream ship, so my newest toon will be in this baby! I sense a new main toon in my future.

Or, is that a silly idea? To start over with a new character for a new ship? Wouldn't be the same, Mavi is an Alien with a Science profession.

It can't be silly if you enjoy doing it! I don't worry about if something makes no sense for me to play or do, its a game play as you like to play. I did the same thing. I got my tactical which I enjoyed and played the most, picked up my science character and haven't looked back. Now I play my science way more then any other character.

I do it a lot...but I guess I don't really consider any character my "main". I like to fly all kinds of ships and I enjoy creating characters and just because you make a new character doesn't mean you can't play the old one at any time

The Fleet Olympic is available for 20,000 Fleet Credits and 1 Fleet Ship Module if you buy a Nobel Class [T6] for 3,000 Zen. Or you can just buy the Fleet Olympic by itself for 20,000 FLEDITS and 5 FSMs.

Alternatively, the Nobel (Hope) comes with the Horizon skin. So just buy the [T6] and you're golden. No bundle necessary. And if you buy the [T6], it unlocks for the account. Everybody gets one.

I've started a toon to use the Nobel class and it's a fun little ship. It's probably never going to be considered one of the meta choices, but the key comes from flying the ships you like.

Like everyone else, I've a lot of toons with 9 of them in active cycle, though only 1 of them is my main and the other 2 are primary alts. The rest of the characters outside those 9 just tend to sit there and do nothing nowadays.

Like others, I have a lot of alts too, including 3-4 of them that are "mains" that I play about daily loaded with Mk XV gold gear, maxed reps, etc. It can be pretty fun to jump on an alt and play the game from slightly different angles. The main drawback to multi-toon play is cost, both in the time investment to bring not just one but multiple characters up to par on grinding reps, ship traits, R&D, etc., plus the resource investment in any character-specific unlocks you might want to pick up like traits, boffs, doffs, gear, etc. It is doable, but it is really up to you how much you want to invest in one toon over another (or multiple others as the case may be).

Thanks for the replies! I have the alt identity crisis a lot, and I can never make up my mind! I have this obsession with Miracle Worker ships, not sure why, I guess I equate them to survivability which I need in a bad way lol. I ended up getting a Fleet Olympic MW for one toon, but I'll likely end up getting the original Nobel so it can be used by any toon, for expense reasons. STO is like a giant candy store.
