I hate being the bearer of bad news, but I just received this link from my brother. I don't know if any of you have come across this information or not, being too absorbed in the game to read much on the forums, so I took the initiative just in case.

I have only just started watching Strange New Worlds, but have already gotten a very good vibe about the Enterprise's crop-haired helmsman, Lt. Erica Ortegas, played by Melissa Navia. Fine acting and a very enjoyable character seems to be developing.
The reason I am bringing her up is that it turns out that she is coming back in season 2 despite a personal tragedy of heartbreaking magnitude. As she puts it, the love of her life, Brian Bannon, Poet Bartender, musician, teacher, EMT, and adept of several other occupations, died last December after a devastating battle with a particularly nasty case of leukemia.
My heart goes out to this talented, young, and amazingly strong woman, her family and friends. I extend my condolences to all concerned and wish them the strength to find comfort in each other.
May you live long and prosper, and your life be full of infinite diversity in infinite combinations, Melissa Navia.
