One of the tasks for a temporal recruit to get a reward that applies account wide benefit is to re-engineer a Mk XV item. As I have an ultimate tech upgrade I figured it would be sensible to use it to upgrade something I'm likely to be using on the character long term.

Given this is a temporal agent so only created about 10 days ago reputation items aren't really viable (I've only just hit tier 2 on reputations, it will be 4 days before I hit tier 3 and don't have the elite rep tokens). Likewise fleet items aren't practical (I'm in UFP 2nd fleet with the character so he has the access but has yet to get enough fleet credits for major purchases).

As a result I'm after advice as to what mission reward items are worth considering.

In terms of what I'm considering at the moment I've got the following list:

Na'Kuhl Temporal Operative Personal Shield - don't have this yet but expect to get it and the weapon over the weekend, I understand this is very good for ground thus worth having long term. I don't know if it can be re-engineered or not though

Portable Phaser Cannon Special Issue - I know this isn't a mission drop however I got it for free courtesy of the steelseries code. I have seen people using this but not sure how long term it is, also I don't know if it can be re-engineered.

Anything suitable for a T6 Heavy Destroyer Cannon Rapid Fire build - I definitely need to upgrade especially the guns on this - I don't even have a full set of Mk XII yet, nevermind anything long term and don't know if there are suitable from missions, I haven't seen any yet.

TR-116B Its account bound so you can move it to your main via account bank if you have or need to

Portable Phaser Cannon yes its none account bound though and only benefits this character but the upgrade does pack a punch

You have a lot you can do just mainly what benefits you are looking for from it

TR-116B is effectively in the same boat as rep gear even though I do have another character - he's only a couple of weeks older and I think my TOS character actually has ground R&D at a higher level (because I already knew about the TR-116B and bumped it to lvl 10 for free from another temporal recruit reward).

If you’re needing a TR116 rifle I’m sure there’s some in a fleet bank somewhere; I could dig one out for you.

I recommend the portable phaser cannon though; it packs a real punch and is a great weapon to have for missions.
