They've openly admitted in the past that sticking ships into the boxes makes them vastly more cash than just having it on the C-Store.

They do have misses like that stupid spinny courier ship, why on Earth that one is behind a paywall of any kind is beyond me as it looks more like an event reward in my eyes, but the fact that this is a Federation ship and an Excelsior to boot, arguably the ship that's the best known design outside of the various Enterprise's and other hero ships, it's a dead cert that people will be after it whether it's to fly, to unlock the skin for other variants (assuming it does of course, the II is a little bigger) or just from a collector standpoint.

FYI: The Excelsior II can't be kitbashed with any of existing Excelsior Class models.

Even less reason to get this then. If anyone really wants it, wait a few more weeks for the 2023 event campaign to start up again and save the gambling/cash.

My plan for next year's event is to get the Stargazer for my engineering toon for day to day use, but also from a collection standpoint. Assuming they run it of course...

Based on what I have seen so far and tested on Tribble (Console and Trait) the ship has a big avoid label on it.

I'd love to have it just for the sake of aesthetics. I think it's a beautiful ship and a better attempt at an updated Excelsior Class than STO did.

Stat's wise like the rest of you I'm not impressed. I'll probably make it a 2023 event ship.
