This episode was so much better than I ever dreamed it was going to be. All the way to the end credits music, this episode was epic!

Agreed, Epic is the only way to describe this one. it was on point from start to finish one part did disappoint though and I have to say why for any future spin-off the loss is a shame and makes me think that we won't see a spin-off now either

This Episode was beyond epic, however I am sad that both Shelby and Shaw are dead.

Having to wait another week for the final episode is killing me.

I think what they've done with Shaw is a waste of a good character and has made a potential Titan spin off less likely now. Not impossible, but the odds have rapidly dropped.

Shaw had his issues and demons but he seemed to be a solid Captain. He saw through Picard and Rikers ruse right at the start which got them off on the wrong foot, found himself embroiled at ground zero of a massive conspiracy, his ship and crew threatened and his back to the wall and he saw things through as far as he could.

I'm certainly looking forward to the finale, though at the same time I know that whatever happens with the plot and show being wrapped up, the Trek universe is saved by canon since we've at least 3 more Enterprise's until the J appears and the Feds are alive and well at that point.

For Shelby, Mackenzie Calhoun (New Frontier novels by Peter David) is going to go absolutely nuclear revenge.

For Shaw, did we see him die? You're not dead until a doctor pronounces it, so I feel that there's wiggle room if the fan base and studio approval goes that way. Hell, Seven and Raffi could have carved their way into sick bay, slapped some of those synaptic paddles on Shaw and got the EMH to patch him up just in time.

It is funny that I even noted a probable Borg angle on one of these threads a month ago, but can't say I would have called the way they pulled them in here.

Hoping we see Shaw's character brought back somehow. They've done it for Spock, JJverse did it for Kirk, Lower Decks has done it, and we've seen enough changlings, borg, a genesis device and no shortage of other sci-fi possibilities for resurrection.

Now to find time to watch the episode end to end without distraction to properly drool over the ships. Been a busy day and week, so kept missing parts even after 2 attempts to watch this episode but I don't feel too bad about padding the view count on this one.

I'm not entirely sure that the emotions were simple acting when they stepped on to the bridge of the D I suspect that most of it was genuine emotions from the gang ..but I think everyone one of us watching had the some emotions

Take a bow Terry Matalas... you just made a 45 year old man ugly cry

Just a few things that stood out for me with this episode, and all of them have to do with "that" scene...

1) - Majel Barrett-Roddenberry as the Computer has never sounded so sweet. (RIP to the first lady of Trek)
2) - Love the fact Geordi essentially kit bashed the Enterprise D back together - (those sweet sweet Galaxy curves tho...*chef's kiss*)
3) - Love the fact Geordi clearly hated the Generations bridge refit and decided to put it back to launch standard.
4) - A bridge with enough lightbulbs to actually see the terminals? So rare these days.
5) - Nice to see a proper warp jump again - these days its all "Blip - Flash - bang" but back then... Warp fields needed time to get going and they make the best sound.

Best Trek episode ever... it's gotta be up there.

P.s. - I can't believe I almost missed this off my list!
