I have heard about Petty Officer Anna´s holiday plans and I must say I´m very impressed by the fact that she is going to provide the animal shelter with sewed blankets. I think that´s a lovely idea. I am also a bit envious,though - she´s going to spend some time in California - a place I have always wanted to visit and definitely will do so in the future. The imagination of her having a "Battle of the Doctors" made me smile.

Personally, my weekend has been (so far) quite relaxing. Cutting the grass was the most exciting thing, and besides this I really enjoyed doing.. nothing! Oh, but this is not true. I spent some time watching the TOS movies on German SYFY. This channel has been showing them all week in the evening (8:15 PM) starting with "The Motion Picture" on Monday and concluding the series with "The Undiscovered Country" last night. I must say it was very nice watching those gems again. Especially Star Trek IV and VI will always have a special place in my heart.. Star Trek V not so much!

What is more, I am quite happy about a day off from work tomorrow. On Tuesday, however, the darn madness in the office will return. But what do the French say? C'est la vie!

Anyways, I´m going to try and have a nice and relaxing Sunday evening now, and I hope my UFP friends will have the same.

Petty Officer Anna mentioned in her latest recording that she is quite good at voice acting / voice impressions. Personally, I wonder what she would say about the German version of the end scene of Star Trek VI... something that really causes (for me) some serious goosebumps and casts tears into my eyes whilst watching the clip:

Petty Officer Anna's log: May 8th 2023.

I'm getting ready for school this morning. It is 6:20 AM when I begin to write this. It's Monday, so my school gets dismissed at 11:45 AM to give the teachers personal development time. Short day indeed!
Today we will be doing our final English and math monthly exams on the laptops for the year. Hallelujah!

@AlexRider I watched that video clip of the German dub of Star Trek VI.
I understood a tiny bit of it considering I used to study German on Duolingo. My first time watching Star Trek in a different language. As Spock likes to say: it was very fascinating.

Today, May 8th is an important date for both trekkies and K-pop fans.
13 years ago to this day, the first reboot Star Trek movie starring Chris Pine was released into theaters. Today my favorite Kpop girl group aespa released a new album.

Did anyone know back in the 90s, a musical group called S.P.O.C.K released a song about Dr. McCoy from TOS?? It's funny yet awesome at the same time.

Master Chief Petty Officers Log, 9th May 2023

Following a nice and relaxing long weekend I am back to work now. A weekend of video gaming was pretty nice and allowed me to sort of my the next part of my Commander Riker cosplay for an upcoming event. Just need to put some more polish on the boots and paint the phaser I have 3d printed before it will be ready.

I also went to watch Shrek the musical in a theatre near me where my singing teacher played Fiona. Was a really good performance and very enjoyable. As someone with Stage Manager and Techie experience from my school musicals I can say both part of the backstage teams did really well and allowed the great performance to happen.

Petty Officer Anna's log: 5/9/23

Today has been pretty eventful! And I created a Spotify playlist inspired by Scotty from TOS. I'll provide the link at the end of this log.
We literally did nothing in class today, we watched CNN 10 which is CNN's student news; we did Wordle as a class. (My class streak is at 42!!)
And since my teacher literally forgot to assign us stuff, we basically played on the laptops.
I watched a lot of clips of Star Trek on YouTube. Mostly trying NOT to laugh!! Needless to say, I would not make a good Vulcan.

After school, my dad picked me up and we ran a few errands. In a bit imma start budgeting out my Dr. McCoy costume for Halloween bc why not.
I also need to include things like a chest binder, and hair gel to tame my frizzy hair, boots, and if Amazon has a tricorder prop.
And, depending on if my mom lets me get contacts next time I go to the optometrist, I will research how much blue colored contacts cost, even if it's non-prescription, only for Halloween.

I did my voice impression of Kirk for my school principal who is a hardcore trekkie, and he almost died laughing bc of how accurate it sounded.

Petty Officer Anna's personal log: May 18th, 2023.

I'm sorry I've been away from the community for some time. Life caught up to me.
Today at my special education school, the high school campus and the elementary school campus are going together on a field trip to a locally owned chocolate factory!!! And at the end of the tour we get to make our own chocolate bar!!

There are only 5 more days left of school counting today. I'm very much excited. We've been watching movies in class since my teacher isn't assigning any work. The first live action Sonic The Hedgehog movie is really good. The sequel-not so much.

Over the summer, also I will be working on creating some Star Trek costumes for myself. I saw a YouTube tutorial on how to turn a red blazer into the uniform from Wrath Of Khan and it requires no sewing.
The second costume which is the shiny looking short sleeve shirt that Dr. McCoy wears. This will involve sewing.
For the "Monster Maroon" uniform I will be adding specifically the details to make it dr McCoy's uniform. I will add a few reference images for both costumes.

Petty Officer Anna's log. Stardate: -299606.9634703197 5/24/23

I had my last few hours at school this morning. Since Monday we have been getting dismissed at 10 AM, when we get to school at 8 AM!
Now I am on summer break... what do I do with myself now??

I need to start preparing for the trip my dad is taking my brother and I in June. I need to get a new suitcase and day backpack. Next week my dad will be taking brother and I to different stores to find what we need.

On my recent report card; I got 5 As and 2 Bs. My dad pays me $20 per A, and $15 per B... So when my dad gets paid next I'll have $130.
I would now like to share my summer bucket list:
1. Finish watching Star Trek TOS. (I finished the "Trouble with Tribbles" episode a few weeks ago)
2. Reach all 3 rewards milestones when I do the county's summer reading program. (500 points is a free lemonade coupon for a fried chicken place, 750 points I get a pass to enter any of the state parks for free, 1,000 points I get a free book of my choice from the catalog)
3. Watch Strange New Worlds season 2 when it comes out on Paramount +.
4. Go on vacation with my dad and brother.
5. Start working on my portfolio for when I do apply to California College Of The Arts/CalArts in the fall/winter.
6. Learn to play my ukulele more.
7. Get caught up on some anime I've been meaning to watch.
8, Start working on my no-sew Wrath of Khan era Starfleet uniform.

That's all I could think of for now!

Personal Log, Stardate: 100991.97 (May 24th, 2023)

Memories came back when I read PO Anna´s recent log. The summer break had always been the time of year every student was waiting for... well, except for Christmas, of course. The last day at school before the summer holidays was always.. special. I cannot decribe it, but there was something in the air that day that made you feel darn well deep inside... well, if your report was good, that is!
I remember that some friends and I used to meet on that very special day in the afternoon. We played some pool billard downtown, bought a new computer game and were looking forward to six weeks off from school. That was all back in the 90s. Moons ago. Yeah.. memories!

Jumping back to present time. Personally, my week hasn´t been bad at all so far. Sure, there´s a lot to do at work and customers seem to get crazier and nastier every day, but oh well, we will survive the madness, won´t we? At the moment I am looking forward to a full week off from work next week. Holidays! Do I have any plans yet? No... just relax together with my wife.

A few days ago I treated myself with a new computer game: Hogwarts Legacy. Alright, at this point I have to admit that I discovered Harry Potter (for myself) pretty... late. I mean, I am 43 and the first Harry Potter book was published how many years ago? Lots...! My wife is a huuuuge fan, I never gave it a chance. A few months ago, however, I got a birthday present: the complete Harry Potter series - together with the order: Read or else...!
What can I say!? I started reading and I was hooked - at once. Why didn´t I read these masterpieces before? Don´t blame or hit me, I don´t know the answer myself. Anyways, better late than never, right?
Oh, but I digress.. the computer game I bought is very, very good and big fun to play - except for the system requirements, but that´s another story.

I think this is all for the moment... oh, just one more thing. PO Anna mentioned the TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles". It´s great, no doubt about it, but DS9 episode "Trials and Tribble-ations" is... well, watch it yourself and you will know!

Master Chief Petty Officers Log, 4th June 2023

Yesterday I finally decided to complete the final main quest in Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. A very awesome battle and great cut scenes afterwards. A very fun game I expect to spend many more hours in before putting it down for a while (Currently at 75).
Outside of that I have a few exams coming up so been revising for them and that's going ok. Probably going to do some more revision before putting more hours into Tears today.

Chief Petty Officer’s log-June 26th 2023.

Currently I am on the road with my dad and brother to the seaside town we are staying from today till June 29th.. we have roughly a five and a half hour road trip ahead of us!

The town we are having our summer vacation in is called Carlsbad, it’s about forty-five minutes away from San Diego in California.
I am working on my bucket list while we are on the drive. I’m excited to go to the Birch Aquarium at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography on Thursday before going home.
I will actually be writing a report about the aquarium and taking plenty of pictures for my article here on the UFP!

I will actually be making a separate thread here in the off topic forum to document my trip.

I’m excited to go to a cool bookstore in Carlsbad, and to try this ramen place called Gonzo Ramen which is within walking distance from the hotel. Also I’m excited to spend time on the beach and enjoy the water!

Sorry I’ve been offline lately, had some changes to my medications.

Lt Cdm Log - June 27th 2023

Well all my exams are dealt with so I've got some more time available to me. Also now a part of Ares Roleplay Project and decided to get a commission at UFP so an NCO no longer.

Managed to get the UFPAC awards list up pretty quickly this time thanks to already having a template for it and only had one problem pointed out to me so far so hopefully nothing else is wrong with it.

Don't have any big plans for my summer yet but I'm sure I'll get up to something as I have a bit of free time.

Quiet morning until someone wanted something and that ended up as an 1.5hr conference call.

Due to food shopping, decided to go for a 5KM run at lunchtime, did that in 32mins in 22C muggy weather, looking like a beetroot when i got back.

Afternoon consists of back to back calls.... YAY!

Perhaps this is a simulation in the holodeck... Computer, End Program.... nope that didn't work.

Lieutenant Commanders Log - 20th August 2023

I have been away for a little bit on a motorhome holiday round a few parts of the UK. Was a nice trip out and got to see some areas of the country I don't see often. Was overall a good time. Now I'm back and ready to work again (at least for a week before I'm calling for a new holiday).

The exams I mentioned in previous posts went well so glad to be past them now. Heading onto bigger things now and going to be focussing in the cyber security field now, which is probably going to just show me how I haven't actually secured anything digitally and just had what amounts to placebos in place but I will see.

I hope everyone else is doing well as Summer is heading to a close I imagine quite a few of us will be returning to more routine if we haven't already so I hope to hear from a few of the regulars above too.
