SO i'm looking into a t6 ship for one of my federation characters i've been leveling up. Been looking at the Tellerite Pralim assault carrier. With 5 forward slots and 3 aft, it has a lot of room for cannons. Has 3 tac, 5 engineering, and 2 science slots, so good for modifying for mobility and tankyness. And with 2 hangers, thats a lot fo support ships.

THe other is the Terran hydra destroyer. Has 5 forward but only 2 rear, but 5 tactical slots so it would be higher in dps. 3 engine and 3 science so balance i suppose. But it has an experimental weapon slot and better turn rate, and can cloak. Would be great for my Romulan character.

Not sure where i should put my money. Both ships look great, and looks like they would be a lot of fun, but i see hydra's kinda often, but the Pralim i haven't seen at all. Had i not been perusing every ship in the game, i would have never known it was there.

I can get away with buying one, but i think my wife would be very upset if i bought both lol.

Hydra, hands down. It is an absolute beast of a ship. That's why you see a lot of them, it's a great DPS platform. It is also "fleet grade" right out of the box, so you don't need to go get a fleet ship module.

Since you also mentioned cannons, the Hydra's console also gives +20% to cannon damage and would be better suited for a cannon build over a carrier, also while yes 2 hangars means more support ships, depending what you're using, they will be fragile ish.

When I'm not flying my Texas class "unalive everything in that general direction" ship, I am flying the Hydra.

Thats what i heard, and i talked to my wife, she's letting me get both. Going to be fun running that hydra. any build ideas?
