Greetings all!

Welcome to 2023's June edition of the Academy News! I am CAPT AlexRider, SFA's Deputy Commandant. This newsletter is an Academy's initiative in order to keep you abreast of the latest news from across the United Federation of Planets.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

• New ARES Executive Officer:

  In May the ARES announced a new Executive Officer: CAPT Nesta is stepping up taking over the vacant position. Congratulations and all the best for your new tasks!

• New SFA Deputy Commandant:

  In May the SFA announced a new Deputy Commandant: CAPT AlexRider is stepping up taking over the vacant position. Congratulations!

• New SFA Recruitment Coordinator:
  (From the SFA Commanding Officer RADM Sunfire)
  In May the SFA announced an old/new Recruitment Coordinator: CAPT AlexRider is stepping up taking over the vacant position after COMO timverbesselt had decided to step down. Thank you very much for all you have done for our community, timverbesselt! We wish you all the best and hope you will enjoy your retirement!

• New SFA Recruit Support Officer:

  In May COMO Stormy returned to Starfleet Academy. We are happy to have him back serving as our newest RSO. Welcome aboard, mate!

• New Staff Writer for the FNS:
  (From the FNS Commanding Officer ADM Solace)
  In May the FNS announced a new Staff Writer joining the team, (Prov.) LT WoorLord is stepping up to his first volunteering position. Congratulations!
  
  
  
• VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
  The UFP would not be the place it is today without our volunteers who selflessly sacrifice their time to help out. Check out the currently open volunteer positions, and how to apply for one, here. If you don't find something there that aligns with your interests, you can always fill out the volunteer interest form to express your desire for something specific to help our community grow. Use the bottom section of the form for that and make sure you treat it just as importantly as an application for an open position. Put in as many details as possible and thank you for your interest!

UPCOMING EVENTS

The United Federation of Planets has a good number of events coming up! You can sign up for any of these events here. Events are for STO as well as Holodeck games that are not Star Trek, here are some examples of upcoming events:

• R.A.F - Red Alert Friday:
  On Friday, June 9th, at 2000 BST/UFP; Special OPS Commander ADM Miles:
  
  Greetings Captains and Welcome to Red Alert Friday!
  
  This event is open to everybody to have fun, but most of all destroy our enemies!
  
  What we can do:
  TFO runs (Advanced or Elite)
  Endeavors
  Patrol runs
  Discuss about builds and game's additions/features

• Diablo IV:
  On Saturday, June 10th, at 1800 BST/UFP; Gaming Supervisor COMO Heyallo:
  
  First Weekend of the Game being released! (outside the "early access"), who wants to come see what's what with friends? hehe
  
  NOTE: I am open to changing the time if need be, I always try my best to accommodate those interested =)
