Folks
I should have introduced myself here on Tuesday, when I joined UFP. Apologies but I went straight into STO once I'd had a look around the UFP site.
So, Wendesday I couldn't manage any online time. 'Fine', I thought. There's the rest of the week. Nope. Wrong. I've had no Internet connection since then until about half an hour ago.
Anyway, hello to everyone. I'm glad to be here, and looking forward to teaming up with UFP fleet members in STO. I'm only Leuitenant 8 ( I think), so I might be a bit below the calibre that a lot of you might find useful. That's only for now though. I'll soon rank up.
I see that there are PvP events organised here. That's something I've not done it STO yet but playing against people is always better than playing against computers. Pity I missed this weekend's events.
Just for a bit of background, I'm a 40 year old man living in Edinburgh, Scotland. Big Trek fan, and I have enough spare time to give STO and UFP plenty of attention each week.

Welcome to UFP, I also am new and haven't gotten into the PvP aspect to much but looking to try as well. Our PvP events seem popular so we should have many chances to get into that aspect.

I find PvP the most exciting part of STO, for which I've dedicated two Klingon toons to PvP builds (one as DPS/Healer eng and the other is a support sci officer - although I'm thinking about going back to the carrier on that toon).

That does sound like some rotten luck but glad to hear things are sorted. Don't worry about being Lt 8, there are plenty of members that will be happy to give you a hand leveling up and quite a few of us start new characters reasonably often as well.

Thanks folks.
I'm gradually getting the hang of the game. Blowing things up was easy to learn. I must be a natural. It was all of the skills and items that took up so much brain power. Just when I got to feeling comfortable with all of that, I went to Memory Alpha. More choices!
Seriously though, I'm really getting into the game. All of those choices make it interesting. And from my experience so far on Teamspeak, you folks are all right! My party piece there seems to be speaking in a Scottish accent. I have acceded to requests to quote Scotty, which is a bit weird. I mean, you've got a Scot quoting a Canadian who impersonated a Scot. What the hell, as long as someone else is paying for the whisky.
