Many subreddits have done the same, yeah. I couldn't get you a list, but I know plenty of places have taken the initiative to protest.

But summary is roughly 50-80% of reddit has gone dark depending on how you slice it. Data from a while ago seems to suggest roughly 50% of all authors on reddit are going dark and about 45% of all reddit karma (Reddit points for getting upvoted or downvoted) is also going offline. This is a massive chunk of reddit and basically only small sub reddits which less than like 500 people have decoded to not as they can manage enough without. However I also know of some small places that don't use the things at risk that are going dark in solidarity.
As a lot of these places plan to go dark until the changes are reverted or being view only until that happens (no new posts or comments) I can see it doing a lot of harm to reddit's bottom line forcing them to change it back just to get people using the site again.

Yeah, it's because it's not just accessibility feature that are going but also the ability to moderate effectively especially on mobile which means some sub-reddits just can't operate without being overrun by trolls, bot posts and such so they basically have to close. Some of these smaller places could be resurrected once the blackout is over but the biggest one's literally can't run without them so they are going dark for good unless the change is reverted. And then it's reddit, this sort of stuff spreads like wildfire over there and gets plenty of attention especially with the popular tab. It's the exact sort of space that this thrives on.

Wow, I hadn't checked on it since I posted the link to it above and over 5000 of the subreddits are still private or restricted. Unfortunately a recent leaked internal memo from the CEO of Reddit

which has made a lot of people pretty angry as he didn't even address why the community has worries or problems with it so lots are staying Private or only letting in people who were already in/going read only until this is over. Looking like this could be the end of reddit if it's not changed which would be a massive loss of information for the internet.
