Hey all,

We'll be coming up soon on the completion of Event V, and thus the rewards of a free ship or two, or free Lobi. In addition to that, I have yet to use the previous Event IV free ship/Lobi rewards plus have a (1x) T6 free ship claim and (2x) T5 ship claims.

I don't really play to get the best of the best gear and min/max my stats--just good enough gear that's easy to acquire and ships to play anything I care about playing, including the Miracle Worker Constitution, the Kelvin ships, and a few others. I also don't buy ships for every alt character; they fly what I've already acquired. The one thing I don't really have is any 23rd or 24th century ships recent ships. My favorite modern ship is the Sovereign, but that ship doesn't seem to be getting any love by Gearbox (that's the publisher now?). I also love the Akira ship design, but can't seem to get a good loadout that stays alive while pushing out damage.

Although I like how the Miracle Worker Constitution (flight-deck carrier) flies and performs (my current ship), I kind of want to fly a ship that's closer to modern times, and be able to have a bit of customization (gotta have the space-barbie) while still being able to hold my own in fights. I don't have any of the Galaxy or Odyssey ships yet and wondered if it's worth getting those.

My main character is a Fed Tactical and I'm looking for a Federation ship to suit him. What ship(s) do you like to fly, and suggest I look at using all my freebie buys for?

Get the ship you want to fly every ship can perform beyond the requirements that is needed for all content in the game.

As Bridger says, it's what you want to fly at the end of the day, but if you're after a bit of customisation too, then I'd probably steer you towards the Lexington.

If you're dead set on a promo/infinity ship rather than getting the T6 tokens then I'd go with the Inquiry (promo) as it's a bit of a powerhouse even though its wrongly scaled or the Exelsior II (Infinity), the console it comes with is all kinds of fun.

Thanks for the replies so far! Indeed to your points, I should just fly what makes me happy because any and every ship can complete/compete in the game.

But what I really want to know is what do y'all like to fly?

I'd like to fly a Federation-inspired ship that has a design from the late 23rd or 24th century (either C-Store, promo, infinity, or Lobi) and am not sure what to use all my free tokens on. The more customization available to "space-barbie" the better! What do y'all suggest?

I have been amassing a collection of ships that are of the same class as all the Enterprises and other Hero Fed ships (or at least can wear the skin of one) All I am missing is the Cerritos and the Titan-A/Enterprise G, however my True love is my Klingon Captain in his Flagship legendary D7

Usually I fly screen accurate ships. Nowadays is the Mirror Constitution Warship.

Can help with the more modern, but problem is the gamble ships rarely come with any customization unless they're linked a a ship line (which is rare)

Only one offhand that I can think of is the World Razer since it's based off the Galaxy class which is probably the most customizable ship in the game, but unfortunately that was released just after the cutoff date (I'm guessing intentionally)

I tend to pick ships that suit my headcannon for whichever character I am running. My main is a Fed Sci, and I lean really hard into space magic themes with him, so for ships I use either a Verne (I was fortunate enough to spring for the Mudd's bundle with it the one time they did a 75% off bundles sale), or I'll swap out for a Compiler from the event if I want a tanky space magic ship instead of a zippy one (which is helpful in this new era of Elite TFO pugging). Other toons I'll fly things like Scimitars, Defiants, one of my alts has a Vengeance, and really the variety tends to be the most enjoyable part, even if many of those builds and toons aren't all that powerful at the end of the day.

I'm probably going to be one of the oddballs that goes for the lobi. I have my fleet defiant tactical escort that I'm still using and probably going to keep flying that. I acquire other ships mainly for different builds to help easily complete the endeavors.

Though, if I can get it, I might consider the Adamant Heavy Raider. Just to see what the differences are without having to spend the Zen.

Otherwise, I'm in the same boat as you that I'm not chasing best of the best, just something that allows me to play the different aspects of the game fairly well.

This is what I originally thought I'd do: Buy all the Galaxy variants (T5 and T6's) including the World Razer, and then use the World Razor ship for it's BOFF and console slots with the look of the Galaxy class. However with the World Razer not available this time around I may just have to wait till the next event...

Sounds good...the World Razer came out in January 2023 and I think the cutoff for these is the end of the year so December 2022

Since you have your boxes from the last two years you have plenty of options on stuff you can purchase for it
