When the U.S.S. Enterprise investigates an attack on a colony at the edge of Federation space, Captain Pike and his crew face the return of a formidable enemy.

Hegemony is the season finale episode, 10 of 10. And there we have it, it feels like it went quick this time as that concludes Season 2, but SNW will return as it was renewed for Season 3. Due to the writers/actors strike and the fact it had not yet commenced shooting, when it returns is currently unknown. Apologies for the late post, as I've been a day behind myself all week.

I'm a little angry that they ended this on a cliffhanger, for a couple of reasons. This isn't like the days of TNG, where you can end a season on a cliffhanger, and the audience only has to wait 4 months to see the conclusion. Streaming is usually a year turnaround on seasons, which is a long time to wait. This year, we have writers and actors on strike. So, we're going to be waiting at least 2 years, maybe 3, for the conclusion to season 2's cliffhanger ending. By that time, I've forgotten about this season. Streaming show's stories should remain self-contained in each season, with maybe a hint of what's coming up, but the audience shouldn't be made to wait a year or more for story conclusions.

I know... you're expecting me to say something harsh and critical about this episode. Well, just a minor one. I'm not sure why the gorn are smallish quardrapeds. Maybe someone can explain that to me. What I do want to say is I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and I really, really like those combat suits (or whatever those suits were). Of course, we're still waiting on SNW costumes in-game, so there's no telling when or if these will show up. My biggest concern is just how long will we have to wait for the next season with the writers/actors strike in progress!!!!
What I really need is a cupholder and a couple of Advil.-Quincy Taggart

Indeed, ending the season on a cliffhanger these days is not the brightest idea. But to be honest, I wouldn't mind waiting a year to see the conclusion, but due to the writers and actors strike it's just gonna take double or triple that time and that's the real problem. Anyways, this was a great episode indeed, even though I'm not a fan of the "baby" gorns, this episode had some very high peaks. I would say I'm looking forward for the continuation, but seeing with how long this strike been going I'll just keep my enthusiasm stored for now.

I like all of you look forward to S3.
But it should be noted that a strike wasn't on the horizon when they planned the cliffhanger. But I also agree with Admiral Morris, we're not waiting months, instead we're waiting for a year to pass. During normal filming times that is.
So, while I appreciate the call back to The Best of Both Worlds, that is something that should be used sparingly if at all in the modern era.
Otherwise, a great episode.

My problem when I find a show I like thats already well into its existence is this, I binge watched SNW in a matter of a couple of weeks and caught up, then it was down to the last few episodes once a week, and now this, a cliff hanger with maybe a year or more to look forward to. I enjoyed the finale, wish there was more! I've thoroughly enjoyed these two seasons much more than all the seasons of Discovery combined.
