This console additionally provides a passive bonus to Starship Control Expertise and Shield Power.

Starship Trait – Hexgrid Shield Focusing

After achieving level 5 in your Protostar Temporal Science Spearhead, you will unlock the Hexgrid Shield Focusing starship trait. While this trait is slotted, manually redistributing shields grants Critical Severity based on the total capacity of the forward Shields, up to a cap of 60,000 forward Shields.

Proto-warp

This vessel has a powerful and experimental proto-warp drive that improves and replaces the slipstream drive used in sector space. It also replaces the visual elements of transwarp.

Just like the Farragut, this is a ship that probably would have worked much better as an event reward. I'm sure there'll be one or 2 folks out there after it but there doesn't seem to be any excitement over it at all. Strikes me as more of a novelty rather than a serious alternative to the other options out there.

Yeah, they seem to be leaning hard on the space barbie side and banking on the Prodigy fanbase on this one. The seating steers it in to a funky DEW-Sci space or maybe as a support build, which means it isn't likely to upset any kind of meta. Oddly, with a massive 1.6 shield modifier and shield-based stats on both the console and trait, this design feels like an old Borticus ship. I'm sure there are going to be a fair few Prodigy fans interested in chasing this and it will fly well enough like any T6 ship, but this is a ship that probably would sell way better if they had put it into the zen store. It would also have kept Cryptic out of the current undercurrent of criticism around the optics of putting the hero ship from a show aimed at younger audiences behind gambling mechanics.

Yeah does feel kinda phoned in, it's like they put all the effort into the ship special effects and they just figured that would carry it...but I suppose that's why they put it in a lock box instead of a r&d pack like most of the hero ships
