could be. I don't have his gun so remodulation has always been a thing with me. but then again, i use my kit heavily so i barely use my weapon in ground missions. Wonder if anyone has done a normal non Mirror borg mission and see if the older borg adapt.

I ran around Defera for a while with the Zephram Cochrane Shotgun, which is also a ranged physical damage weapon, and the borg there seemed not to adapt to it, so it looks like it is just the Mirror Borg that have this new immunity.

I caught a stream by our own Mentioned User Kyuusaku the other night which featured an interview with Dr. Erin Macdonald, featured in the new episode. Cryptic devs like Thomas, Tumerboy, and several others were hanging out in the chat as well, and seemed very much to imply that the Tommy Gun and similar ranged physical damage (not kinetic like the TR-116B) not being eligible for remodulation is indeed the intention. Basically since there is no energy type involved, there is no frequency to change. Kind of odd that they didn't include kinetic too, but kit modules seem to be much more effective anyway, and with the changes to slowing the time to adapt to energy, just using regular energy weapons seems to be more efficient and effective anyway.

Well I figure if they included kinetic that means the Borg would adapt to melee weapons as well and they didn't want that

This is the weapon that gets awarded when you replay the new mission, it appears to use the same skin as the black phaser weapons from the Caelian bundle. I slapped an ultimate tech upgrade on it just to see what it looked like at gold.

Also the new Miranda bridge at least, is bugged, there's no ambient sound on them. On the plus side, it appears to only load your boffs in so there's no longer random crew in different uniforms. Though the ready room doesn't exist despite a clearly marked door for it, the consoles are instead at the back of the bridge.

There is a phaser shot gun that's anti borg you can loot during the mission on a hidden body. It does a real number on them. does kinetic damage to borg, but they can still adapt to it.

during the Jefferies tube part of the mission there is a long hallway you can go down I think past the 2nd locked door. It's after the part where the crewmen gets yanked by borg. You walk down that hallway, turn of the burning plasma and its on the ground. It's the same section you fight the super borg regenerator. The other path is a burning plasma vent. shut that off and check the body. It's a black phaser shotgun and it DESTROYS borg.

Word is floating around reddit that the mirror borg will be getting the same immunity to the TR-116B as we've been seeing with the tommy gun and shotgun.

My kit modules do most my killing I did notice on my run through the new mission though the immune notice to the Tommy time to pack a bat'leth or sword or fave melee weapon again when facing the borg

Upgraded stats on shotgun

I upgraded the weapon found in the mission and I wasn't impressed with it. At least, not enough to use it over my lobi store weapons. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice option, but I thought the Lobi weapons were still superior in a lot of regards. The Discovery weapon was especially faster at taking down the Borg.

The adaptation only happens when fighting the mirror borg as far as i witnessed.
Also be careful with your kit modules against them, they can even adapt to a part of those.
One example of a kit module they can adapt against is the gravity containment unit. From a certain point on, only the pull continues to work, the damage isn't applied any more until you remodulate.
I still have to test other modules (mines specifically), but i wouldn't be surprised if they can adapt to them as well.
