To give some context: I chose the ship I did because it had a Commander Commander seat, and Lt. Commander Engineering and Science seats with good Hull, decent turn for its class, and the ability to use Attract Fire. It can also be gotten Free-to-Play, which at the moment is the state I'm playing (though that might change w/ Black Friday). What I'm looking for is budget improvements I can make, or if anyone sees anything majorly wrong with this. I've been playing for less than a month, so this is based on the research I've done so far. I'm eager to learn.

Update: After some of the conversations had during today's event, I might consider trying to get Redirecting Arrays instead of Entwined Tactical Matrices during Black Friday and drop the torpedo. If we do that Torpedo: Spread I would become Kemocite-Laced Weaponry I.

I've also learned the Crystalline Energy Torpedo Launcher Mk XIII doesn't work for this due to its 12 second CD.

From what I'm reading, I'm actually going to need to slot in some Plasma-Generating Weapon Signature Nullifiers just to generate enough threat to draw aggro at first because I'm going to lack the damage to draw aggro.

Sorry I forgot about this... to much work at work. The build you have in mind looks good but I would not waste resources on the Plasma-Generating Weapon Signature Nullifiers.

Next major upgrades I'm looking at are acquiring Symbiotic Ice, possibly grabbing Super Charged Weapons during the next good ship sale, and 8 of 47 DOff.

Still have some upgrades to do on the ship, but here's the current status of it during an ISA solo. Still working on my piloting. Looking at rare Energy Weapons Officers for Crit Chance and Crit Severity as my next upgrades. Here soon I'd like to unlock my 7th Spaceship Trait slot for Super Charged Weapons.

- so I decided just to test it, and found the above setup to be a pretty significant DPS loss. Best guess I can give as to why is Call Emergency Artillery I was doing more work than I suspected. In addition, I still think Photonic Officer I isn't necessary on this build, so am updating the OP to reflect the changes I've made.
