    I do love the 12th Doctor meme format and you are very right. Star Trek replicator is what I want to make but knowing my luck I'll end up making some sort of Stargate replicator type thing spewing out of the machine instead. And that is why I will not be trying to make a replicator.

    We’re kind of getting there with the advent of 3D printers. There are also food printers, but those are in the early stages. There’s still a lot of work to do in order to get to the energy/matter conversion stage though. If I remember correctly, a group of scientists were successful in transporting a few molecules a very short distance, so things are getting there. Whether or not the technology reaches a stage similar to what’s in Star Trek remains to be seen.

    The animation of the replicators in Star Gate was kind of scary for me.
    Normally I'm a person who can't be scared so easy and much, especially when it is fiction.
