    Hi all.

    I'm running an instance of the Reddit discord server's STO Bot, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having it post to our discord as well. It can either have a channel of it's own or post in one of the current channels. All I'd need is someone to invite it, it's already running and posting in another discord channel.

    Thank you for your suggestion for the bot.

    However, after an examination by our Technical Services division, it has been determined that this bot logs chat to a file on their server. It isn't entirely clear whether being restricted simply to #sto-reddit would prevent it logging every single chat in every single channel on the entire server - which is an absolute red-line for the UFP.

    So, unfortunately, we are going to have to decline your suggestion for the STOBot.

    I'm not sure where you're seeing anything logging to a chat file on the server. The server hosting the bot is my desktop, and I can confirm that there's no log of chat files.

    It does parse the chat to make sure that it doesn't repost links, but it doesn't write anything to a file for that, other than the ID numbers of the discord channels to post in.

    Hello and thank you for the clarification. The purpose of the text file writing was misunderstood at first, but a second look did show the only thing written to the text file would be a channel ID. I do apologize for that misunderstanding.

    If we were to run a bot like this (or any custom bot) for our Discord server, we'd need to host it ourselves to maintain security. At the present time, we have other tasks that need completed before we can implement the bot on our own systems.

    I would like to thank you for the offer to host the bot, but we must respectfully decline.
