I got the lifetime since beginning of STO - so at this point of time after so many years it does feel worth it.

However getting LTS this late into the game's lifecycle : 10 years, is worth thought. I'm not saying this because of recent acquisition - if anything I personally feel player base is being too dramatic. How you measure worth of a LTS is ultimately up to you personally.

How I measure? When a game is new, and you at least know it'll run for another 3 years. Anything above that is a bonus so if you feel that you play a game consistently for 3-4 years - it's your moneys worth. After STO the only games I've ever pre-ordered and supported would be WoW, SWTOR, Cyberpunk and considering same for Helldivers 2.

At the end of the day, it depends on your income, fixed expenses/liabilities, portfolio income strategies and savings goals. Let's take an exaggerated scenario - STO closes in an year's time. But you're gonna play it daily. Do you feel this is worth and you won't count the -$199 in your bank and enjoy the game? If so - go ahead get it.

If you are getting it - apart from fireworks emote: The veteran ships are OK. The 500 zen per month is good additional zen and main highlight I'd say (for me personally)

There was quite a bit of discussion on this on the Discord yesterday.

I have played off and on since just around FTP and have always regretted not pulling the trigger on it (for one reason or another).

Came back just before the Anniversary after being gone 4 years and was really impressed with the QOL changes and some of the other things going on.
I had decided to go ahead and get the LTS the next time it went on sale.
Naturally the recent developments, vis a vis the debarkation of some well respected STO staff members, did raise some concerns.

After all the discussion yesterday, both on UFP Discord and on Reddit, my decision came down to personal value, rather than guesstimating longevity of the game. (one of the reasons I didn't pull the trigger in the past).

I have 12 characters (3 Delta Recruits, 1 Gamma Recruit, a freshly minted Klingon Recruit) and probably about 3-4 of those I really use as "mains". The rest just get rotated occasionally depending on what I feel like RPing.
With the changes since I was gone to a lot of things being "account" bound instead of just character bound, it really squeezed my Account Bank slots. So the extra 20 slots were definitely welcome.
Also, the character level slots (inventory, ship, bank, etc) were definitely welcome as well!
I like using the Admiralty system, so any excuse to add "free" ship cards by activating a ship I get either through rewards or other means, is always a nice perk. Expanding my dry dock for those I will never use (or use again) is also nice since it lets me get more ships.

And I do like to dress my characters appropriately. My main even changes outfits depending on the mission style, or if he is going to visit the Admiral or other dignitary!

So the costume pieces were nice.

That doesn't even include the T6, T5 and Small Craft ships that are included.

All in all I did go ahead and finally pull the trigger yesterday, because even if it only lasts another year, I think I got my value in slots alone.
At this point, the 500zen per month just make it that much more of a bonus!

Of course, I did get it during the 50% off sale.
$199 would make me hesitate a bit more, honestly. But I still would probably end up justifying it.

As you said, it absolutely depends on your current financial situations, how much time you are spending playing the game, and what parts of the LTS rewards/benefits you would actually see value from. I had stopped playing on a server for another game where I was doing about $10/mo patreon, so this is coming from that fund.
