Helldivers 2 is sweeping the gaming world with its unique blend of Cooperative Monster hunting, RPG style story writing and operation all in an action packed and satire fascist package.

Think of Helldivers 2 like Starship Troopers meets Evolve, Evolve was the game where you and a small multiplayer team work to kill a monster. The game takes place in a future where "Democracy" is the be all and end to spread this Democracy everywhere with a nice helping of Liber-Tea.

In truth its more like a meritocracy, Starship Troopers to its credit never denied this and said Democracy was a failure whereas Helldivers society is masking itself as Democratic.

The game itself is a parody with many satire bits like Ads which show its not a serious commentary on politics.

With all this aside the game is being well received by many and from experience is very fun to play. I only got a chance to play a bit via a mate but the gameplay is solid and the overall story interesting enough to keep going but more so you are a part of that story in a big way.

The story of Helldivers 2 is about a much larger campaign to fight the enemies of Super Earth and its run by a shadow dungeon master, a single person who adapts the story, makes changes to difficulty and with your help shapes the in-game universe you're playing in. And your efforts aren't for not, you get tangible digital rewards if you and other players across the world meet milestones in the war such as players recently unlocking mechs and being able to pilot them or the upcoming bug spray weapon if they meet the next one.

So it's quite a interesting game and I'm seeking to gauge UFP members interest regarding it.

You'll find alot of us have been playing it for quite a few weeks now, myself i managed to get to level 25 but others are nearer 50! its very fun to play and i don't see myself putting it down for anything else for at least a few more weeks to come

The reason for my poll is that I wonder if enough members are interested in a regular news item on the game, updating readers & players on events in a game themed news report.

seeing as the in-game narrative is going on the fly that could be fun you could theme it as a "news just in" thing

I agree with Novalance on this 9 days 138 hours in-game already and hit 26 today I think it is a game that even when it quiets down will be easy to pick back up, so news and updates could be good

1 no so far bug and bot sympathiser, who doesn't like freedom and liberty I guess?

The world would be boring though if we all liked the same stuff.
