If anyone can find a better looking Star Trek forum than the new one I am going to be genuinely surprised and I don't just mean better looking than fan made ones I mnea better looking than any Star Trek forum. It really does look that good.

It makes me sad that I am still having to use the current forum and I really like the current forum. The new forum is just that much better.

in-fact, I'd like people to goto sites LIKE http://vb4style.com/ it has to be for vBulletin 4. and find the best styles they can!
As much as this will be for us to compare, it can also show us things that can be done, that we didn't notice!

the galaxy map was the first player made STO map to hit the forums in closed beta and the various versions have had over 100k hits over the year, i was thinking of updating it at some point, maybe it could be worked into this website with the google maps API?

For the record {UFP}washproof, those graphics look great. You have some great abilities with graphic design.

I am so excited to see this new site! :mrgreen:

Yeah pretty good Wash. One tip: don't save graphics with heavy gradients as GIF because you'll get that dot matrix pixellation. If you have to use GIF at least use 256 colors with dithering.

i only use Gif if im gonna animate a small avatar tbh.

Sorry they are PNG's but it's the same thing. Don't use PNG when you have photo quality graphics or heavy gradients. If you have to use PNG for the transparency use PNG24. If you have to use PNG8 make sure it's set to 256 colors.

Thank you all for your continued patience. I'm happy to say thanks to the efforts of Sharpkiller and Neo, the new forums are by and large complete - I know there were some significant coding work needing to be done, both in order to get the features we wanted and the new design layout in.
So most of our focus will now be on the website section, which should proceed much more rapidly. No release date as yet, but we are looking to have the site fully operational before the UFPAC on March 26th.

When the site launches as aforementioned, there won't be a Klingon theme instantly available, I'll be working on that shortly afterwards, however there will be a second Federation theme which will purely alter a section of the background. It's being kept separate for those who prefer smaller (file size) websites over pure aesthetics - so be sure to check out the Theme Selection page when we move over .

Also like to thank Reggie for his inclusion in the project just recently, his additions to the site look great (including his work on the alternate theme as mentioned ).

More updates will follow in the coming days. Everyone in the team is looking forward to sharing our collective efforts with you all
