By any chance does anyone here know anyone that has been in the beta for this?
I've never been a comic book fan (nothing against them just nothing I really ever got in to) so my knowledge of the lore is minimal, but I have played both City of Heroes and Champions Online and found the theme quite attractive and a welcome break from the traditional fantasy style MMOs (such as WoW, AoC, LotRO etc).
I knew it was coming out and hadn't really spent much time looking at it but now it is days away I am interested in giving it a try. I used to enjoy City of Heroes but found it took a bit too long to level up and most of the instanced areas were very samey.
I had Champions Online at launch and played that for a couple of months, I loved the character creation but I didn't enjoy the level design (not the look of the levels but the actual maps, it seemed like a heavily instanced WoW where you would just keep running back and forth in the same theme area collecting things).
From the previews I have read (which so far is two) it sounds quite appealing and at the moment whilst I am still playing STO I have two max level characters and am not particularly drawn to the Aegis or Borg item sets (although I have a complete Aegis set), I am not too keen on crafting and am not too interested in creating content, so basically Season 3 doesn't bring much to the table for me right now so I think now might be time to look at investing in a new game to play.
So if anyone has any insight in to this title or knows where some in-depth previews are it would be appreciated.

not sure yet, I liked City of Heroes more than CO. I been waiting till release, my past MMO Beta's have let me down. looking in the direction of FFXIV for that... ruined it!

Apparently, they've started to really improve FFXIV, adding a lot of content that the community has asked for.

I was in the beta on my ps3... I liked it for a little while but ultimately I find it very repetetive and a bit of a button masher.

autofire just makes the game more automated = i load game, goto pvp, start engines slow, walk off, make cup of tea, ship fired automatically, no point using powers, klingons overpower me..... loose game, get points, ....
