Rank and Clearance Level
Description of the Problem
Hi everyone

I was just looking around the website as i haven't been on for quite some time and i was confused by something i saw on the fleet roster. There are several high ranking officers including admirals (such as Alex L http://ufplanets.com/member.php?131), in the clearance level 3 section. Normally high ranking officers are part of CL4 and Admirals are usually CL5-6.

This may just be a system problem, but if the information is correct would it be alright to know why this is?

People who obtain the rank of Admiral won't loose that rank if they choose to step down from a CL4/5/6 position, hence why they have maintain the rank no matter what clearance level they are.

Yeah, during my time in the AC (now SFC) I had the highest clearance levels, but since that time I've stepped down from all my positions. I now only have normal member access. Should I ever gain an executive position again, the Clearance level will be adjusted accordingly.

With the Clearance Level system it can occur that lower-ranking members have higher clearance levels and vice versa. This is the way the current system works.

In the UFP, executive positions are not based on rank. Instead, you can apply for an interview to get a position.

if Memory Serves you were CO of the JAG department, correct?

I've been a member of the {UFP} for 10 years now. During this time I've had the following positions:
- RPG Director
- Academy Dean
- Member of Admiral's Council (now SFC)
- Judge Advocate General / CO of JAG department (now defunct)
- CO of Personnel / Internal Affairs (only very brief)

Currently I have no administrative functions in the fleet and enjoy standard CL3 membership.

Anyway, I now enjoy STO most. Administrative duties don't interrest me as much as before, plus I seem to have much less time on my hands than some years ago. Anyway, unless brass decides to retire me , I'll be going for my next 10 years of service. I've been here for 10 years and I challange every new member to out-stay me. The UFP is worth it!

Apart from Hathaway, I think I probably have the best chance of outlasting you. Over six years and going strong. I plan on regaining Vice Fleet Admiral within the NEXT six years.
