So akin to Star Citizen, will this game ever launch? Not trying to be negative nancy, I just put a few bucks into Star Citizen only to discover it will 1) require WOPR to run and 2) not launch until 2015. *shrug*

I like Star citizen but is too rich for my blood. I could never afford the PC requirements. So I hope NA will be more forgiving related to PC hardware requirements.

People who pledge $75 or more will get beta access once the Kickstarter ends later this month, with an estimated Steam release in April.

That being said, if you think you're likely to play the game I'd make a $25 dollar pledge soon as the devs have said once the game is officially released the price is likely to increase.

Hey guys! Novus has reached it's $150k stretch goal! With it, we've unlocked the Verunas as a playable race! According to the latest update, the Verunas will have stronger, but slower hulls and a unique tech advancement system that will drive Verunas players toward a more combat oriented play style.

In addition, having reached 2000 backers, the Novus devs have released a new piece of Lore, this time focused on those scourges of the space lanes, pirates...

Finally, in response to feedback, the Devs have announced that they will be changing the way CP, Novus' unit cap system works. To make sure that players are getting the sort of system they want, the Devs have come up with 2 possible systems. They'll be overviewing both of the possibilities at the weekly livestream this Saturday and 5 pm EST (10 pm GMT)

The Novus devs have released their 10th Kickstarter update, which contains some important information for all future Novus players.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, the Novus devs had decided to rework the way CP, Novus' population cap, worked. After yesterday's livestream discussing the system with the community, they've decided to split the system in two, Empire CP and Zone of Conflict CP.

Empire CP is the hard cap most of us are familiar with from strategy games, limiting the number of ships any player can construct. This is largely the same as the previous system, however, there will be one change: Empire CP will scale with Empire population, meaning that having a larger empire will be able to construct a larger space force.

Zone of Conflict CP on the other hand, seems to be a bit more complicated. This system will, as the name implies, create a zone of conflict around an area whenever conflict breaks out. Within this zone each player will be give a soft-cap of CP they can have deployed in the zone. Players can exceed their CP cap within the zone, but with the consequence of receiving a debuff that will increase in severity the more CP they deploy.
In addition, all ships within the zone will receive a buff that will increase in effectiveness as more players become involved in the fight.

Secondly, the Novus devs are looking for suggestions for additional add-ons to be added to the Kickstarter.

Finally, they've released another bit of faction lore, this one focused on the Survivor faction

Novus has broken it's $165k stretch goal, colonization moons...
Moons will work similarly to planets, offering more opportunities for empire expansion. However, due to their small size, moons will only be able to support a small population, meaning capturing them will be much easier than capturing a planet.

As you may recall, the Devs were asking the community for suggestions as to new add-ons for the Kickstarter. Yesterday they announced that they would be adding the four 'compendiums'- essentially strategy guides focusing on each of the four aspects of the DIME system, for $40 each or in a $150 box set, as well as the Lore Bible for $75 and the Special Edition Lore Bible for $100.

Earlier today the Devs also announced that they would be offering the Karcharias Fleet and Kraken Dreadnaught for $35, the Endgame Fleet for $25, and the Ringworld planet and Apocalypse planet skins for $15 and $10 respectively

I should have made it more clear, the Endgame and Karachias/Kraken packages are for ship skins, not actual ships. It's like buying an outfit pack. Same for the planet skins.

Remember, you only need to pledge $25 (£15.1 to get the game when it comes out on Steam, as well as a special market skin.

The minimum pledge to get Alpha access to the game once the Kickstarter is over, as well as the Endgame fleet skins, the ability to reserve your username in advance, and a month of premium is $75 (£45.53).

One last thing to keep in mind: Anyone who pledges will get 50% of their pledge back as in-game premium currency, essentially the Zen of Novus Aeterno. These points will let you buy new skins of ships and planets once the game is live.
