Books with Andorians

Hey all,

I'm part way through This Grey Spirit and I'm really enjoying the parts of the book which focus on Thirishar Ch'Thane and his Andorian family. This aspect of the Deep Space Nine books has certainly piqued my interest in the topic. I've finally got around to ordering Articles of the Federation (which has an Andorian protagonist as far as I am aware) and am eagerly anticipating its arrival.

Can anyone here recommend any other Andorian heavy books without spoiling any plots?

Pretty much the entirety of the Mission Gamma series has Andorian Heavy stories, as Shar plays a large role in most of them.

The Typhon Pact books even have a huge Andorian arc, as
Andor secedes from the federation.

Unwilling to click the spoiler tags! Thank you for the advice though. I'm really looking forward to finally making it to the Typhon Pact books. I'm reading my way towards Articles of the Federation at a leisurely pace at the moment. Going to finish This Grey Spirit, then finish reading Titan: The Red King (not enjoying Red King half as much as Taking Wing so far though). That should lead me quite nicely into Articles of the Federation and onwards!

The first 3 titan novels are lack-luster, but they pick up from there. Synthesis is my favorite, but it takes place after the destiny trilogy.

I should really post a read order of must read Trek novels...

I really enjoyed Orion's Hounds, but yeah Red King is one of the weakest of the series. Dentari, once you've finished the Destiny Trilogy be sure to hit Paths of Disharmony, it focuses almost exclusively on Andor

But only after you read the Typhon Pact novels that come before it: Zero Sum Game, Seize the Fire (a Titan novel), and Rough Beasts of Empire.

While not required reading, if you don't want to read the Star Trek Vanguard novel series, look it up on Memory Beta for plot summaries, as it will fill in a lot of gaps that Paths of Disharmony doesn't cover.

Seems like there are plenty of books at least partially covering Andor/Andorians. I suppose I find them so interesting because the TNG era series and films are pretty much devoid of them, which seems a shame really.

I'll likely take a break from the Deep Space Nine novels soon so I can finally read Articles. I keep having to stop myself from rushing through all these books - I'm successfully forcing myself to savour them so far!

For those who care (if any ), my copy of Articles of the Federation has arrived. The cover art looks really very good for a mass market paperback. I'm excited to start this one, I may even start a thread here to discuss my thoughts on the book on a chapter by chapter basis.

The DS9 re-launch novels touch on Andor quite a bit, one of the 'Worlds of Star Trek Deep Space Nine' focuses on Andor and is a really good read.

After Destiny everything takes part in a properly shared continuity (with Voyager sort of doing its own thing but still fitting in) so make sure you read the books in order otherwise it will absolutely ruin a big plot point that I won't spoil for you.

To clarify, am I safe reading Articles of the Federation without receiving any massive spoilers for the Mission Gamma series? As I'm only half way through that run of books to date!

The worlds of DS9 series seems like a really interesting idea!

On a related note, I finished Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - This Gray Spirit earlier on today. Emotional roller coaster doesn't begin to cover it.

I was 100% absolutely not prepared for dem feels..

I can't recall any massive spoilers and with Articles of the Federation being so good I would hate to recommend delaying it, that said I would strongly recommend reading them all in order, the books now are much more interconnected to a single continuity than they have been before.

THIS might help. You can definitely skip the New Frontier, Titan and Voyager novels if you want as I don't think they ever really impact the continuity much.

I'm several chapters into Articles now. Really really enjoying it so far. It's certainly different from everything Trek related I've read so far, but that's what's so refreshing about it I suppose.

Also, having already ran into a relatively minor spoiler in Articles, I've ordered the third book in the Mission Gamma series, Cathedral, so I can continue making progress through that particular chain of books.

Eagerly looking forward to reading more about Thirishar ch'Thane and family now, considering the events which took place in book 2
