what are peoples thoughts on these, I just love the way they pulse when firing, if there is a better beam I can get hold of easier what is it called please, as im currently using a mix of commons with very rares

For sheer sexiness in space when firing these things are unbeaten in my view,well maybe the pulse phasers are close.

The proc is a bit meh though i find as it has a nasty habit of knocking things back out of range or further away, adding to range penalties.

I guess if you don't care for the proc they are just another energy type. Only major downside then would be getting the stats right as they are lockbox weapons.

Not only does the beam look great but the little explosions when they impact is also impressive.

As far as the proc, only very specific situations does the knock back come in handy.

The Pulse phasers on the other hand....that proc is legit.

You can pick mkII pulse phaser arrays off the exchange for 1-200k, and it only takes about 4-5 superior beam upgrades to get them to mkxIII

I've been using the Pulse Phaser beams for a while now, and I don't know if this is the case or just a coincidence from a patch or what not, but I find that my Plasma Explosion (from Embassy Science Console) and Kemocite Weaponry are proc'ing more often then on my other toons where I use Anti-Protons

I've been using pulse phaser cannons and I've noticed my console proc a lot too...but I've been away from the game for a long time so I don't remember how often they procced....

Maybe it's possible they're bugged or it's intentional...

If I have FAW going, I can get at least 3-4 Kemocite procs, and maybe 1 or 2 Plasma procs in quick succession (within a few seconds of each other) On multible ships at the same time.
