Didn't even know it was back on - guess I'm watching it tomorrow.

I watched the pilot today while eating my bacon sandwich! It wasn't a bad Pilot episode, certainly has got me hyped for Series 10.
I am slightly sad that this will be the last series with Peter Capaldi, he grew on me! Wonder if they'll do a woman doctor this time round, I certainly wouldn't have any objections.

It wasn't a pilot, the title was "The Pilot", it would be silly to have a pilot episode for an established series!

To sum up: Really enjoyed the episode, but dear god the implications of the ending are worrying.

I thought it was excellent. All three episodes have been quite fun, not too complex and haven't aspired to be anything more than a good episode of TV. As a result I've really enjoyed them all, especially this last episode.
I keep saying this, but Twelve and Bill are amazing! It's easily the best Doctor/companion dynamic since Ten/Donna (which was great, even though I don't like Ten much). They actually challenge each other and have a relationship that's grown quite naturally rather than being forced due to some plot point or other. The fact that the acting's so good from both of them really sells it, too.
My favourite parts of that episode would have to be first, the bit where The Doctor finally realises he has a companion who won't take enigmatic or vague answers. You know the bit. And second, every scene inside the house, especially the Doctor's little speech. The Doctor is very old, very experienced and has seen and done so much that they play up the weary traveller aspect a lot in the modern series. But there, for the first time in ages, was a glimpse of the slightly naive optimist that is so integral to his character. Beautifully played by Capaldi.
Some nice jabs at how history is portrayed on TV, too, which Doctor Who itself has been very guilty of (every Victorian story in the modern series).

Episode 3 reminded me of 'The Beast Below' in that they were once again rescuing an 'aquatic' creature from underneath the UK/London. However it did give Peter Capaldi a chance to shine again by giving him some real zingers. One of my favorites of the episode was “Regency England- bit more black than they show in the movies.” “So was Jesus. History’s a whitewash.”
Not to mention we also got The Doctor breaking his own rules of diplomacy and reason by punching Lord Sutcliffe in the face when he referred to Bill as a 'creature'. I've seen gif/photo sets of that moment whored out across social media for the last few days. I'm hoping it'll turn into one of those iconic Doctor Who moments like Dr Constantine turning into a gas-mask zombie during 'The Empty Child'.
Then we got the speech from the Doctor which was a direct attack on entitled people. “What makes you so sure your life is worth more than those people out there on the ice? Is it the money? The accident of birth that puts you inside the big fancy house? Progress is measured by the value you place on a life. An unimportant life. A life without privilege. That’s what defines an age. That’s what defines a species."
There were a lot of good moments in Saturday's Who.

I think the second episode is still my favourite of this series, didn't really like some of the parts in the third, I think it was the children that annoyed me most about it.

I'm enjoying the new season as well. Pleasantly surprised by the new companions as well. I for one did not know that those frost festivals were a real thing. Apparently the Thames used to freeze over regularly and they really did bring elephants out on the river!
Now on to the real question... What is in the vault and who made the Doctor take an oath not to leave the planet?

We'll find out in Episode 6, apparently. No season long wait this time! Now on to the real question... What is in the vault and who made the Doctor take an oath not to leave the planet?
Well I thought that was another excellent episode, and what a performance from David Suchet! One of the absolute best guest performances I've seen on the show.
I really like the continued tendency for them to actually investigate things, rather than just wave a screwdriver and instantly know what's going on. Feels a lot more Doctory. Intelligence is supposed to be one of his main traits, after all, which I've always thought is more about being able to work things out rather than just knowing everything.
The episode was fairly straight horror, and very well done too in my opinion. And thankfully it didn't spoil everything right at the start like Smile. While I've seen a fair few reviews saying the other students were just superfluous cannon fodder I enjoyed their inclusion, perhaps only because the horrors of house hunting are all too familiar to me. I've been in that position and hell, I'd have taken that deal (though I'd have read the contract first. Always read the contract!)
Next episode, another one from Jamie Matthieson! He may just be my favourite writer on the show now.

It is quite curious to know what is in the vault, is it Clara?
Also, the episode on the weekend was good!

Clara! That would be interesting although I've got to say I do quite like Bill.
Do we find out what's in the vault next episode, does anyone know?
