    I hope Discovery is set in the Kelvin Timeline...(but it's not) besides, it is 2017 we live in the modern age of technology and the production crew of Discovery know this, so why would they want to use that stone age-low-budget tech from TOS? even Enterprise had better tech and it was set 100 years before TOS (90 years before Discovery).... and seriously, can't everyone junk be HAPPY & THANKFUL that STAR TREK will be back on TV?! GEEZ...!

    I hope Discovery is set in the Kelvin Timeline...(but it's not) besides, it is 2017 we live in the modern age of technology and the production crew of Discovery know this, so why would they want to use that stone age-low-budget tech from TOS? even Enterprise had better tech and it was set 100 years before TOS (90 years before Discovery).... and seriously, can't everyone junk be HAPPY & THANKFUL that STAR TREK will be back on TV?! GEEZ...!
    If Star Trek Original series would be made today, the look of the bridge and the ship would be different. I tend to disregard the look and be happy that i can watch anything Star Trek. They made a science-fiction show in the 60s and did what they could with what they had. Now today they do shows before TOS time that look more and more what it should look from our current view point.

    So i tend to agree with Dylan, don't mind the gap in technology but do mind if the story and settings of the show will satisfy you or not.

    Another note, JJ Trek would represent more the look of the technology TOS should have been. (without the lens flare Smile )
