    So Fox is doing a Seth McFarlen/John Favreau Sci-Fi comedy called "The Orville"



    From this trailer, it looks pretty funny. Really looking forward to it.

    i like the trailer. altho i were never 100% fan of Seth MacFarlene's humor. i liked some his work. like Family Guy.

    This looks like Galaxy Quest Meets Trek (which was what Galaxy Quest was in the first place but you know what i mean) but in a way it makes fun of them. which i like.

    Interesting. I'm not personally a fan of MacFarlane, but he's known to be a huge Star Trek fan, so hopefully this turns out to be a nice homage. Hopefully the humor ends up being less Family Guy and more like Stargate

    I loved this trailer, it looks like it will be pretty good and although I like Seth's work even I hope that there's less Family Guy/American Dad esque humour in it, which at least from the trailer looks like it might be, definitely looking forward to it.

    Honestly this trailer got me more exited for seeing this show than the new Discovery trailer did for it.

    I hope it distinguishes itself from his other work. While I have enjoyed 'Ted' and 'Family Guy' etc, a lot of it has been the same thing over and over again with just a tiny amount of substance thrown in. I'm hoping 'The Orville' give Seth the chance to explore some more complex story lines.

    Seth MacFarlane gave an interview a few days ago

    It probably has more in common with Star Trek than Futurama. It is an hour-long show so we have to tell a story…The show is being promoted leaning on the comedy – and we like the promo a lot – but I think people will be surprised that we are digging a little deeper. We are servicing the science fiction aspect as well.
    I think it is going to surprise people that we do do our heavy lifting – or least we try to – with the actual work of writing thoughtful science fiction. It’s not really as much Galaxy Quest as it’s being billed as. We’re digging a little deeper.
    Sounds like a good sign for those of us who are a little leery
