Star Trek: Continuum mod for Homeworld Remastered installation guide
Hello Trek game and mod lovers,
In Tactical we’re working on a couple of articles to give you some more insight into the gameplay of the mods Star Trek Armada 3 (a mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion) and Star Trek: Continuum: Remastered.
For now we're just going to take you through the installation and give you a little sneak preview.
You can buy the Homeworld Remastered Collection on Steam or though a number of sites that sell game-key codes. When buying game-key codes on the net, always take care to reassure yourself that the site or person you're buying from is legit. At Tactical we have tried a few game-key code sites and know from experience a couple that are trustworthy. We don't want to turn this article into a site promotion, but if you ask one of the Tactical officers named below, they will be able to point you in the right direction.
So let’s get installing:
If you bought Homeworld through Steam, then Steam should install the game for you. If not, check your settings.
If you bought game-key codes on a different site, then do as follows:
1) Log on to your Steam account (or make one),
2) Click on Games→Activate a Product on Steam→Next→I Agree and insert your codes.
The test codes we bought gave us 3 codes, the collection and 2 soundtracks separated by a + (mine worked from the last one to the first for some odd reason).
To install the mod you have to go to the steam workshop or to this link:

Hit the subscribe button and the download and installation will start automatically through Steam.
Both my download and the auto installation were completed without any problems.
To launch the mod you have to click Play→Mods→Select the mod in those steps and hit Launch
So … is the game worth going through all of this installation stuff?
Like I said at the top of this article: we’re working on a gameplay information article for Continuum.
In that article I’ll be addressing this question in a lot more detail, so keep an eye on the Tactical mod forum.
For now I’d like to report that the initial test of this mod in single player mode didn’t bring up any problems, the game ran quite smoothly.
Then we tested the multiplayer mode: 2 Players vs 2 AI. At first it looked like the game was running smoothly, but after about 10 minutes it started lagging, and the player information started to go out of sync, ultimately resulting in the game freezing. We tried different settings but unfortunately this happend 3 times in a row.
We contacted the development team about this and sent them a game log. They reported that they are aware of this issue. According to them it's server related and has nothing to with the mod itself.
Whatever the cause, it is preventing normal multiplayer gaming for the time being.
The game currently comes with the following game types:
2160’s (ENT Era) Deathmatch
2250’s (TOS Era) Deathmatch
2310’s (TMP Era) Deathmatch
2380’s (TNG Era) Deathmatch
Available races: Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Cardassian
The AI has quite a number of strategy levels: Dynamic, Defensive, Normal, Aggressive.
With win condition: Destroy production, Destroy team production, Destroy all ships, Quit manually.
So far this little sneak peek into the gameplay. More information is on it's way
