    So, just watched the first episode, and I have to say, I think this series is pretty good. Just the right amount of funny and its nice to have some Sci-fi on tv that isn't grimdark for a change.

    I also just finished watching the first episode and I can also say that I love it, if Discovery becomes the Disaster I think it is this show will be my Trek.

    Just watched the first episode also, quite enjoyed it! I don't agree with some of the jokes but I'll continue to watch it.

    I honestly wasn't terribly impressed with the first episode, however I really want to like it! Throughout the episode I felt like they were trying too hard to make it humorous or make a joke. Some of those jokes felt like the same old "jokes" every other sitcom uses. The acting was good, the visuals were great, and the setting was also great. But the direction of the show I am not yet sold on.

    That said it's a new show, a new ship, a new crew, and they're still finding their way. I really want to see it turn into something awesome (really!) that stays around for a long time because sci-fi and comedy is a great mix! We'll see where everything goes. Character development can make or break a series, so I look forward to what they do with The Orville.

    I watched it. I would say it was ok at best, was a good watch, but at the same time I wasn't impressed - I do agree with some critics in saying that it feels like a very expensive way for Seth and co to play Star Trek. I will keep watching it, but there was soooo many mistakes in the episode (i.e. characters in different seats, shuttles appearing and disappearing when they landed), just such a shame. Still good though!
