That math post does the same thing people in tiny fleets love to do, saying "even a 20 player fleet" like it's abnormally large - but it's not. That's actually the smallest size the costs are calibrated for.

Heretic said back in 2012:

The "sweet spot" for fleet size is in the 20-50 active player range. Past that, and while the resource collection capabilities would improve, the bottlenecks inherent in the system will most likely lead to a lot more politics about which provisioning projects the fleet should engage in. Below that is perfectly doable, but it does mean it will take longer for a smaller fleet to progress.

Yeah i saw all that maths and was like.....????......we tend to have 10-20 odd people online in peak times but we are also a massive fleet with a total of 4 sub-fleets actually. Plus, we pool resources into one holding at a time so in effect we have 4 fleets worth of members doing the heavy lifting.

It WILL be a tough slog to the top but that is the whole premise with MMOs, it's not about being there instantly. I honestly hope that they use this massive holding as a jumping off point to add in more fleet based queues or missions that can earn the provisions. The beach assault is nice but will grow tiresome eventually, perhaps add these provisions to Fleet Defense and Fleet Alert too, just to spice up those old dead queues again.

We have something planed for the new holding, and on a soon to happen meeting we will work out the details and than we will monitor and see how things are going and adapt accordingly.

Ok some news:

They have lowered the amount of needed provisions to the projects by 75-80% however they added a Dilithium Cost to the Projects.

The Dil cost was expected.

Even after buying the out of control prices of the Dil uniforms (TWOK vest, jacket, MACO outfit) I am still sitting at around 3.5 million Dil.

Just a hint that is useful: the powerboards from risa are useable on the water, that shortens travel time to some of the points.

Just a question going forward.

The new holding has a coffer tab and it looks like you can contribute towards the workload with it rather than having things cluttering up your bank. However it appears to be darkened out and unusable. I've read on Reddit that by default the contribute option is locked to fleet leaders only - are we keeping things that way or opening it up to all fleet members?

The coffer system looks like a solution to the problem of massive fleets not having enough projects to cater to all members. So you can donate, get rewards and then the provisions can be used as required later on. A good idea imo but maybe bugged now I’ve heard, or it can be locked out?

I believe the bug has to do with it burning through the coffers without actually contributing the full amount to the projects?
