Ok that episode was good, bad, and weird.
1.) The Saucer of the Discovery is a joke
2.) Poor Captain Georgiou
3.) This poor creature

1. It does give a reason behind the split saucer other than aesthetics which is good. Some people on Reddit thought it rotated two directions which I don't think it did, just an illusion when they jumped. The jump effect was neat though.
2. Not that our hero character needed more guilt but there it is.
3. Yes, and it looks like the next episode will address it. The concept of dealing with the tech vs the life form to me is very Star Trek like.

I enjoyed the episode, though I'm a bit lost as to where we're going now. There's obviously something happening within the ranks of the Klingons that remains to be seen, alongside the question of what the Discovery will get into now their spore drive works.

I did enjoy this episode, much much more than the other three!
Spinning saucer was stupid.
The ending with Captain Georgiou was definitely sad, it just makes me wish she didn't die so early on!

I was surprised that they killed off the Chief of Security so early, at least Tasha lasted a whole season. Ripper is being taken advantage of and i think this process is hurting it.

The more I watch the more I dislike it. Which is weird since the reddit "intellectuals" and here told me that it would get better and that pilots are always bad, but now I rate the Pilot higher than what I've seen so far!
What is Discovery actually trying to be? For me, it's edging waaay to close to high fantasy for my liking. You got Klingons that look like bald Uruk hair weird their high-grade Daedric armour after levelling their smithing to 100; We got a bug that you would usually see in something like Star Wars, or how Discovery spasses out like it's from Doctor Who or something. It's trying to give us this shock factor that Game of Thrones has, but is falling completely flat on its face!
One my major criticism is that It doesn't have consistency when it comes to other Star Treks, but now it doesn't even have consistency with itself! In the second episode we clearly see the neck of the Klingon ship separate, but now after being stranded there for 6 months without food, or a starbase to repair at, it magically reattached it self; It's probably that fantasy aspect I talked about, a Klingon just used Reparo like Hermione in Harry Potter. And then you have the telescope... How did they manage to get the telescope from the Shenzhou? They could've retrieved it later on, but then the questions are why did they not scuttle or salvage the other ships, and take the Klingons as PoW. Just doesn't make that much sense.
Well, just like last week, I hope it gets better! But I'm starting to dread each new episode.
You are concerned about the repair job to the Klingon ship over 6 months? Have you ever seen an episode of Star Trek Voyager?

Kind of works. We will see how this spore drive thing goes. Now that it requires a living creature to operate it's easy to see how this never made it past the experimental phase.

While I don't think they have yet to explain why the saucer spins, I thought it looked pretty cool. Hopefully they don't forget it is supposed to do that (like when BSG jumped without retracting the flight decks, or when Voyager warped without folding its nacelles).
The Burnham will be the bridge between Lorca and the rest of the crew, at least in terms of having a strong moral code, but also having that cold vulcan logic to do what is required.
I am really starting to like the fungas expert, even after he threatened to take his mushrooms and go home..lol
The doctor and his sense of humor reminded me a little of Bones, so high hopes there.
Overall I have really enjoyed the show, my only complaint being the blasted one week thing between episodes!

This has been the best episode yet, I didn't get to watch it yesterday morning so watched it this evening instead and perhaps that changed my perspective but this one was an emotional roller coaster.

They said in the episode they scavenged all the derelict ships on the battlefield over those 6 months. That's probably how they were able to fix their ship, there must have been tonnes of metal etc floating round there. But it took them ages to get the engines running as they refused to use parts from the ship of the person who killed their leader. That's Klingons for you i guess, resourceful but arrogant and superstitious.

I didn't know fidget spinners were trending so much that Star Trek: Discovery thought it would be cool to have a fidget spinner space ship....
