I would think at this point they should be fitting such functionality as standard! You'd hope so anyway, just incase.

All ships are cable to do atmospheric flight, from the old Constitution Class to the most moderns ship the question is if they have landing capabilities or not.

The Intrepid class had landing capabilities, although I’m not sure if the Odyssey can land or not...

That is true, although the Odyssey class has about 2.500 people on board, so a crash would be less than desirable.

Didn't the TNG Technical manual say that the Galaxy Saucer can float?

Off Topic:

A Google search has two predominant sources: Memory Alpha and Star Trek: A Call to Duty (both source the Technical Manual). From what I read, there is no mention of the Galaxy saucer being able to float. This does not mean it can't.

Yet, I get the impression that the saucer alone does not have atmospheric capabilities. In other words, if the saucer is going to the planet surface, then it's a one-way trip.

Well the landing place was not optimal hitting all the mountains causing heavy structural damage so a flat surface like water or a dessert might have saved the ship.

That is true, although the main componant of the Enterprise had already been lost; her engineering hull with the warp core. So, I think Starfleet would have considered her a loss, particularly with the loss of the U.S.S. Odyssey one year prior.
