Despite Yourself

Wow they really upped the ante in this episode.

I really didn't see the death of Dr. Culber coming at all... such a wonderful and complex character and they were setting him up for so much story.

Heartbreaking.

In a post GoT world I guess we need to get used to "main-ish characters" dying over couple of episodes or so?

I wasn’t too surprised by the Doctors death, the amount of emotion in the episode from him in this episode and the last, kinda expected it. I really enjoyed the episode by I think my worst fears have been all but confirmed - they have changed the look of the Conny...oh god what have they done...

Don't panic yet. That very well could be the changes the Terran Empire made to it over the 100 years it's been in their universe.

I expect some "modernization" from the 60's but not like that.

My guess is Stamets will be blamed as they paid a point of his outbursts earlier in the episode.

Holy crap what an episode.. thats one hell of a return episode.

I guess until we see more detail on the Constutition-Class of the Discovery-verse we cannot be sure of any modifications to the class itself.

I Loved Tilly in this episode tho. turning into Captain Killy

Seemed like a good episode to me, I think this really had some great direction, and the nature of the Terran Empire seems to have been told very well!

Lol the official length of Discovery is 750 meters, so the Connie is either tiny or super large.

So the TrekYards guys had an interesting take on that. The inner ring of the saucer and the Connie saucer is the same size. So imagine that the outer ring and all of the extra engineering space are built around the spore drive.

That 750 includes the nacelles.
