3D Print your STO vessel

This was something that Cryptic tried before, but the company they partnered with went under before things got off the ground. It’s interesting to see them making another move on this as it was something that had a lot of demand when it was first floated.

I don't know what the pricing for STO ships might be, but in the Collectibles section of the 3D Printer's site:
The 12" tall Asura is $500.00
The 12" tall Troll is $679.00
The 12" tall Underwater Filth is $450.00
The 12" tall Fantasy Female is $470.00
The 12" tall Knight on Horse is $599.00

Now these are hand-painted collectibles (whatever collectible means to them), and not in-game models. Still, that lays out their price points for their high-end stuff. I think Cryptic should make the files available to the players for their own printing! I mean, isn't that kind of WHY people buy 3D printers?

Mixed Dimensions© uses WAY too much corporatespeak for me. (Proactively maintain stand-alone strategic theme areas… et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.)

I shall not be partaking of their services. I have no ability to justify the cash layout that will be required. But if I did… Give me the complete [Assimilated Borg Technology Set] on a [Risian Luxury Cruiser]. Print THAT.

I'd rather spend on all that money within STO itself. Though I must admit, the thought of having my ship sitting on my desk is very tempting!

If I were made of money, a 3D print star trek collectible would be a cool thing to have. Perhaps if the prices came down over time it may be more feasible.

Too bad that the Sovereign class in STO is missing the Nemesis' aztec hull painting style, shuttlebay-neck connection and faster-looking positioned nacelles. Else I might be considering the offer.

They say if you can make the modification in-game, they'll be able to print what you make.

This is pretty cool. Back in 2007-2008, when I was still heavily into WoW, I got a figureprint of my Horde Mage. It is not as clean as the above, but technology in 3D printing has vastly improved in ten years.

Of course, the price difference of $180 (then) vs. $500 (now) seems a bit... excessive.

With the alternative means of getting a figurine of a Star Trek ship for 10% of that cost... those ships better be made of titanium alloys and able to fly via remote control.

At least for my Wow figureprint, they are my character in my Burning Crusade armor set. Thus very individual and personal to me.

That model looks way better than the previous ones they were touting, but price will be pretty insane i reckon.

And to be honest for most ships in game, there are the very reasonable Eaglemoss miniatures which look pretty dammed good and are a nice price too.

Also, that company website uses way too much weird business bull♥♥♥♥-speak which looks really shady to my eyes, it reads like some sort of corporate management manual rather than a fun site for models of your favourite characters.

I could see perhaps getting some Romulan ships printed if it isn't to costly.

The Pathfinder Intrepid would be a nice one to have but I love my Wells temporal sci that much more that depending on the price I'd definitely get the Wells done at least.

And like Sul said they look a lot better than the last ones they were offering up.
