    BattleTech will release soon.

    Anyone getting this or already pre-ordered it?

    I am super tempted to get this, but there was a previous BattleTech game (not by Paradox), that I put quite a bit of money into, that suddenly disappeared overnight during beta testing. So I'm a bit gun shy with BattleTech games now, even though I trust Paradox.

    I've read about it awhile back and saw some of review on it. Yet, with today's track record of gaming companies poor releases (bugs, incomplete, etc), I am interested... but likely to watch and wait.

    This approach usually serves me well. Thus, I'll wait until the "Game of the Year" sale and version comes out. Smile

    This one seems to have passed me by, though I’ve always liked the Battletech series - except for Mechwarrior 4 which had the worst in-game acting I’ve ever had the misfortune to witness - I’ll keep an eye on it now it’s due for release but I’ll be holding off on getting it for a little while.

    Did play Mechwarrior Online for a bit back in the early access days, but it started getting into silly territory with the costs of the optional packs.

    I tried Mechwarrior Online for a while but after the game got silly expensive, I just uninstalled it. I saw some gameplay on YouTube for Battletech and I think it's much more my style. But I think that everyone here has given good advice and I'll wait for the GOTY version.

    The advantage of buying a Paradox game later is that a later edition might include a couple of the 523 DLC packs it will have by then.

    Necroing a really old post because I'm new here - if you like battletech you might want to look at the Battletech Advanced 3062 mod for this game - bta3062.com - I've played it a lot and its fun. Bigger units than the base game (maxes out at 8 mechs, 4 vehicles 4 battlearmour iirc) and higher tech - basically clan and 3060 is tech (though for balance reasons clan weapons aren't just universally superior, they tend to be higher damage, higher heat but shorter range).
