Asteropax, you got any ideas on how you want to run these battle-drills or hand-to-hand sparring? I'd like to get the crew involved with them before we hit the colonies. We can be paired off and able to tag our partners and all that.
Generator, you have any ideas for fighter drills for your crew?
Kirk, you pretty much had a real battle-drill with triage and our medical emergency haha maybe you can train different battle-drills and hand-to-hand with us?

Exactly. If you didn't want to do that, you could join the rest of the crew for whatever Asteropax has up his sleeve or both.
I'm excited to see what Astropax has in mind. I do believe the Holodeck would act as the drills Sickbay however as it's easier to create real patients with severe injuries.

I'm just starting to get back into things here so it'll be awhile before I have something official. I know I will have the security teams take to hand-to-hand combat in holographic simulations, such as the Klingon exercise programs we got to see a lot of in TNG and DS9. It would make sense that Teriir got his hands on a few of those programs and many others during the Dominion War. More would likely be issued by now with how many potential threats have unveiled themselves during the later half of the 24th century. We'll have to feature the phaser range which we saw in TNG a couple of times too. I know we will have to include a few of our characters either compete against and alongside one another during these.
The battle-drills will likely be more "behind the scenes" than the hand-to-hand / phaser training because there won't be much more beyond response times and suggestions on tactics / improving ship systems.

Right perfect, I'm imagining we have the crew paired up with people and we do a week or so of hand-to-hand training while the fighters fly around in the holodeck or target asteroids/meteoroids or something. After that week or so, we'll be approaching the colonies.

Love the idea. Obviously, I don't mean to cause offence but aren't the Klingons our allies? It might make sense to run an Orion pirate simulation or if we want something different a True Way sim as its the biggest threat to the Federation in Cardassian Space?

We can apply Klingon and Vulcan tactics against Orions, True Way, and Nausicaans or whatever.

Since it's tied between Bryma, Dorvan V, or Solosos III as our first stop, I'm going with Bryma as the tie breaker haha I'm hoping each stop gets better and better. I'm think Bryma will be easier to write about while the others will be more developed.

Secondary Location - Cardassian Colony Worlds, Demilitarized Zone
- Bryma - Colony of Cardassians living in desperate poverty, both on the planet's surface and below through a network of tunnels, struggling to meet even their basic needs, surviving on algaculture - farming a species of native algae, since the Dominion's attack, to address food security and malnutrition. On the surface, the algaculture sustains the colony with nutrition and energy, creating hydrogen through algae fuel, while colonists moved underground after planet's atmosphere was damaged as a result of the attack. During the war, it was the location of a weapons depot, according to Cardassian sources.
- Dorvan V - Home to a colony of Native Americans from Earth, featuring a Habak. The colonists renounced their Federation citizenship and agreed to be governed by the Cardassian government in 2370. The planet's features include at least one continent, as well as mountains and rivers similar to ancient North America, Earth. Since the attack, crops have not grown to their full potential, due to radiation exposure. Colonists suffer from malnutrition, growing the minimum amount of crops necessary to their survival. Nausicaans raid remaining crops and torment the colonists for sport.
- Solosos III - Though the planet is now uninhabitable to Humans for the next forty years, Cardassian refugees settled the planet after being displaced from Veloz Prime and Quatal Prime. Planet inhospitality to Humans due to the USS Defiant firing two quantum torpedoes of trilithium resin into the atmosphere in 2373. Orion slavers routine abduct the Cardassian colonists and sell them as slaves. All defenses and technological resources were destroyed in Dominion attack.
*Environmental suit required for protection and life support due to inhospitable environment.
Mission Summary
Stardate: 58776.2 - The USS Ares, NCC-79116, is on its way to its first mission of Humanitarian aid to Cardassian colony worlds, located on its route to unexplored space in the Alpha Quadrant.
The Ares will drop off supplies, including portable matter replicators and one industrial replicator for reach colony. Our goal is to temporarily help with making these colonies self-sufficient as part of the Cardassia Union's Reconstruction.
As representatives of Starfleet Command, we are to meet with the colonists and their leaders, earning the proverbial "hearts and minds" by taking 2 weeks per colony, to give Federation aid and hospitality, helping the injured, and creating new homes and infrastructures, in addition to any general relief efforts.
Cardassian space is teeming with Orions, Nausicaans, and Ferengi; they are taking advantage of the logistical chaos of these Cardassian colonies. Reports of Orions enslaving colonists, Nausicaans raiding ships, and Ferengi profiting by exploiting colonists, due to the desperate situation. The Ares is expected to take all lawful steps necessary to safeguard the colonists through both negotiation and/or defense.
Stardate: 58910.44 - The USS Ares will depart the Demilitarized Zone to resume its mission to seek out new life and new civilizations, charting unexplored space in the Alpha Quadrant, upon the arrival of relief Starfleet vessels.

Love the idea. Obviously, I don't mean to cause offence but aren't the Klingons our allies? It might make sense to run an Orion pirate simulation or if we want something different a True Way sim as its the biggest threat to the Federation in Cardassian Space?
Appart from that I'm excited about the drill!
The Klingons are our allies so it is natural that all sorts of things become common knowledge or traded. The exercise programs I had been referring to are similar to the one seen in DS9 Season 4: "The Way of the Warrior". In that episode, Worf was using a program which Dax owned on the holosuite. I was using the Klingons as an example/template of what I'll be having us do one the Ares. There are plenty of other choices for additional training, such as the dualing arena Riker fought his father during TNG Season 2: "The Icarus Factor" and the aikido programs Natasha Yar used in TNG Season 1: "Code of Honor".
We'll be doing some Orion, Nausicaan, Breen, Dominion, and even Borg simulations (yes, I think we should run into them at some point). I also plan on having a junior officer try out a Kobayashi Maru test.
