Hey Guys and Gals:

So, as I'm slowly learning more about the game, questions are coming up. I hope that this question is in the correct spot.

What is the REAL difference between a T6 and a Fleet T6? I know that the seating is a little different and the hull is a little stronger, but is getting a Fleet ship worth losing the Starship trait that comes with the z-store version?

Any advice would be appreciated.

The fleet version does not come with a console or the ship trait, but is stronger overall. I believe they have an extra console slot and expanded seating. I recommend getting the regular version, and upgrading to the fleet version later on.

You get an additional console slot, depending on the ship type. You also get a very minor change in BOFF configuration, and it still has the 4 scaling buffs, just doesn't unlock a trait. They are stronger in terms of hull points. However, they are often very expensive if you get them as stand-alone.

If you get the ZEN variant first, level that up, get used to the ship, get the trait THEN get the Fleet variant, like Tain suggests, it only costs 1 Fleet Module over the 5 it normally costs on top of the 20k Fleet Credits.

I always recommend the Fleet variant of any class simply for its endurance and the additional console. Having 13 consoles makes a heck of a difference on a build.

So, is the Trait attached to the ship or the toon? That would definitely make a differnece in my thought process.

The Trait is attached to the ship but the C-Store ship is an account unlock.

The trait comes with the ship, but unlocks to be used on any of your ships once done. You just have to evaluate if the console is just gimmicky and if the trait is worth while.

One thing to note, if you purchase the zen ship, it will be available to all your characters of that alignment. The fleet ship is only for that one character.
And as Kerry said, buying the zen version does also give you a big discount on the price of the fleet version.

Make a copy or download that since it's a shared file. And learn how to use it. This allows you to compare virtually every statistical aspect of a ship to others. I use it every time I think about buying a new ship. Worth studying.

As has been said, if you buy a C-Store ship you get a (usually) gimmicky console that can possibly be fun/useful but is almost always inferior to the consoles used by the "good builds."

Starship Traits that come with C-Store ships can be good or useless, usually some reddit browsing or ship reviews will let you know. Once you unlock the trait by flying the ship, you can equip that starship trait on your toon and use it with anything.

Fleet ships are statistically better and the extra console slot is the main thing driving its value, but no traits or gimmicks. They're cheaper to get (1 rather than 5 modules) if you already own the C-store version, but fleet ships are per character not account like the store ships. They also come with a unique Fleet skin to use and I personally think they look good in most cases (Fleet Andromeda/Galaxy is among the most beautiful ships in the game imho).

Be careful though, some C-store ships are already at fleet level, I'm talking about the command battlecruisers and I think the Flagships, maybe more. In another thread I recommended the Presidio for that very reason, those Cstore ships that are already at fleet level in terms of stats and console slots are a great bargain. Use the ship comparison tool I showed you and you'll be able to tell by the stats/# of console slots which ones are already fleet level.

I personally own the Fleet Command Sovereign (gorgeous) and the Fleet Andromeda/Galaxy (gorgeous) and I'm very happy with those ships. I'm tempted to get a Fleet Guardian as well, although I'm not a fan of the fleet skin on that one....... but I probably will anyway because I wantz all shipz!
