These are the two most canon maps I could find, that don't include the novels. Are there more accurate maps then these? How do I add full resolution images on here?
I think they both came from Star Trek: Star Charts - The Complete Atlas of Star Trek.

Oooo great topic!
It always staggers me how despite all the shows and films we've had the actual volume of the galaxy explored is tiny compared to the full size. The A&B quadrants area which most shows are set in is barely 10% of the total area of those quadrants.
That means there is a massive amount of uncharted space that is ripe for new shows and stories to be created.

Exactly the whole foundation of the Ares Project haha that's why I love the project so much.
I knew it was a small amount, but not THAT small. We have a HUGE area to discover.
Do you know a good warp factor calculator page? I found http://www.ditl.org/speedcalc-page.p...ID=Calculators, what you think? I'm trying to compare it to http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/W...relative_speed
Check out the bottom part where it says, "The 24th century scale was created at the start of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Gene Roddenberry stated that he wanted to avoid the ever-increasing warp factors used in the original series to force added tension to the story, and so imposed the limit of warp 10 as infinite speed."

I can't be much help with galaxy maps but if you want some for actual planets, say the Cardassian colonies we are visiting in Ares RP than I have found this really great website that can make a very realistic map with villages, terrain, ideologies, ports and so many tags.
It does take some time to figure everything out but once you get the hang of things it's really cool.
You can find it here: https://azgaar.github.io/Fantasy-Map-Generator/

Great to hear, the best part about it is that you can edit practically every detail, from village names to roads, trade routes, rivers and population.
I might make one for the first colony to show off its features if that's okay?

For comparing the speeds of ships we saw on screen this video does a pretty good rundown of things i feel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSyfpUyzQGU
It's amazing how slow some of the earlier ships were and it really makes the scale of the known space even more daunting, let alone the humongous area outside in the rest of the galaxy!
Star Trek literally touches barely the tip of the iceberg even when you take into account every single show/film/book/game combined.
That's why i'd much rather see new shows/films move out into that area, rather than rehash old ideas or get stuck with the existing crews/ships. We need a show that is like VOY but in the opposite direction, with maybe the bulk of the Federation coming along behind them to assist when required.

I've got the hard copy of Star Trek: Star Charts - The Complete Atlas of Star Trek. It's what I've primarily used to figure out locations in the Star Trek galaxy since it has a lot of information within it. Planet/star categories, how sectors work, and some overviews of some of the planets of interest within the galaxy. Some of the non-map details are a little inaccurate but it's still a good atlas overall.

I've only seen it online but it seems really good. I'm mapping out our voyage out of explored space. Which details did you find inaccurate?

A better term for "inaccurate" in this case would be "haven't seen/heard anywhere else". If this information appeared elsewhere in Star Trek's media, I would consider them to be canon. These are the entries which stood out to me the most:
- Andoria has a population of 38.2 billion
- Coridan experianced a civil war which killed off roughly 94% of its population between the 22nd and 23rd centuries (3 billion to 185 million)
- Borg Prime has a population of 50.0 trillion
It's not the maps I'm worried about, they're fine. It's just a few of the entries specific to a few of the planets that bothers me.

Ohhh, ok. My big focus is the maps right now haha trying to figure how long it's going to take us to get to uncharted space. It's really exciting haha

I think the problem with "facts" like those is that they are thought up by people not really thinking things through. 38B people is a lot of Andorians to fit on what is only a moon, it doesn't really make much sense. The Borg planet, sure that might make sense if the whole thing is hollow and they don't rely on food or air etc.
You see similar issues in other works when authors make up a cool sounding fact then later it looks silly. GRRM did that with the Wall in GoT, it's listed as 700ft tall which is a ridiculous height when you see something that tall in real life; even he has said he regrets making such a silly number up.
