Are some accolades worth collecting?

For example in the Episode Frozen, to get the Incarcerator accolade you have to repeat the mission 3 times. Do you think it is worth the effort for the 10 points?

I don't think that any accolade is 'worth' collecting. I think that some may give a title that you can use on your toon while some are just bragging rights. As far as I know, none actually benefit you in gameplay. Personally, there are some episodes that I don't like playing 1 time let alone 3.

The one that would be worth collecting, M.A.C.O. Elite Commander, is currently broken, has been for years and probably will be for years to come.

That unlocked a tailor variant of the MACO armour, however since Cryptic removed the Elite versions of the Borg STF's and didn't update the accolade, it's impossible for anyone to earn it now.

I'm a bit of a completionist, so I get whatever Accolades I can. Some give you a title, the rest are just padding your score. But if you check out other players' info, you can compare yourself and feel superior.

There were some that were fun to get, like the accolade that was removed for climbing to the top of Tribble Mountain in the Federation Cardassian Struggle Arc mission "The Tribble with Klingons".

Though it's also removed, another funny one was for getting first place in the Fluidic Space Fleet Action, the Wrangler accolade - that awarded a ship trophy called "Save the Whales".

I personally feel accolades are a fun and personal thing to do. It's sad they don't apply account wide and its nutty to grind them for each character. I personally love achieving those accolades which have a unique title attached with their achievement, love my Elite MACO Commander for instance, which can't be earned anymore.

And I *only* did this while leveling up (I swear)... but I go full on "rainbow boat". Whatever I got as a drop, if I could slot it, I used it. Yes, Rainbow Bright and the Little Ponies were gleefully happy. Yet, I'd only do this during the solo episode play through. Never in an STF. hahaha.

Yet, it was an easy way to get some of the non-typically used energy type damage accolades... on the cheap (if a little embarrassing...)

Coming from CO I have to say I love me those little accolades and titles. I even went back and added CO through Steam so I could get some of them as Steam achievements. Shame STO accolades don't count for the same.

My wife and I even multiplayer Saints Row 3 to drag a few achievements onto the profile. Well we did until our daughter was old enough that we couldn't really play it around her anymore. She's almost 16 so few more years and we can go back to finish Saints Row 3.

We know it's all a little mental trick to get us back on the game. Got to fill those bars, get those stars, tick the little boxes and make the grey pictures fill with colour. No one does it quite like Fortnite though. That game's just one huge psycho-social experiment on Self-Efficacy, Skinner's Box and the Zeigarnik effect. Game designers (and some governments) are getting better at tuning this stuff in with many of us even being unaware of what we're doing.

My only regret, there are some accolades that I can see are simply unachievable due to changes in the game story arcs. They tease me every time I look at the list. Accolades, got to love them.
