    This was pretty cool. I wonder what script Orchi wrote that got him fired for the third movie. It was too "Star Treky" according to Simon Pegg and Paramount.
    A Star Trek IV without Pine, followed by a Terentino R rated reboot with Quinto walking out the door before that. Less movies, more Disco

    Yeah it's a pity. The crew actors had a really great dynamic that just worked extremely well i thought. And Karl Urban absolutely knocks it out the park as Bones.

    The visual effects and general cinematography also were extremely good i though, much better than the tired feel of the later TNG era movies.

    Should have revitalized the franchise but too many silly decisions kinda stopped that. I am interested in what Orchi wrote though, how could a Trek script be "too Trek"?????

    It should've been too Treky. Do you think paramount should stop? they might not be around for much longer. Let CBS capitalize on the Franchise getting back to the basic with TV? I wonder if this is why they are trying to bring Patrick Stewart back.

    I see now, [2009] being the exception. I thought "TOS"ish.

    Were they referring to all the films prior to Gen? Because I would love another movie like Star Trek IV. If they even did made a remake, I would be down for that.

    Truth be told Paramount never really did a good job advertising the films, 1 and 2 good advertisement, Beyond, lackluster advertisement at best. Say what you will about CBS but at least They're trying, wouldn't have hurt for Paramount to do what CBS is doing with AoD for Beyond.

    Except that the budget for Beyond was less than the other two, so less money to spend on advertisement. Although if they hadn't have blown a wad of money on that ridiculous motorbike scene, they may have been able to put some commercials out with the money they saved.

    Are you suggesting they should have added explosions if they knew there was a budget surplus?
