I was wondering if using it and some doffs, if I only have a single copy is it waste of doffs and a power?

Thinking about the power it can give along with the cold hearted trait, but don't know if I have room for two copies of it on certain builds.

It's not a "waste", but you'll need to use something to help it along. Have you got the Regroup trait? That can work well to combo with single AtB.

Not currently, but I do have access to specialist knowledge and I can guarantee about anything I'd fly has intel or command seating.

A single copy of A2B is not a waste at all. If the ship is light on Engineering, then it's the way to go.

And if you are using your aux for auxish stuff, you Drake. Otherwise, AtB has the advantage of working with all boff abilities.

Another reason why I was thinking one copy, couldn't I just drain my Aux based abilities and then use A2B? It wont have a 100% up time so I could use Aux abilities then use A2B.

Not planning on using this on any pure Science ships...but eventually if I ever save up the billions of EC I want for things...well I have a couple Sci heavy ships I was considering.

In general, absolutely nothing.
For the vast majority of ships, it's a strictly inferior to dump Aux and take up DOff slots.
Nukara rep traits are still the best, regardless of if you're taking the offensive, defensive, or both, and top priority if you have Aux.
The A2B build for those ships are cheaper, as the better builds require more expensive DOffs (and possibly traits).

For specific ships with insufficient Tac abilities, it's superior by dint of being the only good build.
For specific ships without a surplus of abilities that would become redundant with A2B, you can squeeze out better performance by getting cooldown reductions on abilities that otherwise couldn't be reduced. These are very advanced builds by people who would not be asking this sort of question, though.

It does NOT use A2B at all, relying on BOffs yet opens up DOffs to do other things, while also opening up use for other abilities.

A2B works for all abilities, Krakens work for careers from the BOffs, Drakes cooldown EptX abilities only (ref: https://www.reddit.com/r/stobuilds/w...d/intermediate)

Clearly, because A2B efficiently reduced cooldowns for all abilities, it's the better option for DPS. Granted, unless you use keybinds, then you are clicking like crazy.

When it comes to me why I prefer A2B:

1.) All cooldowns are taken care of
2.) I don't need copies of Boff abilities
3.) Cold-Hearted (-50% Damage Resistance and more)
4.) I don't have to spend any Skill Points for cooldown reduction
5.) I can use Boffs with better Traits like Romulans, Jem'Hadar, Nausicaan, Hierarchy or Kentari

It's true you loose your Aux Power, but the benefits are much larger than the downsides.

Yaas, Cold-Hearted is a BIG draw to use A2B.

If you don't have the Event ship though ... well A2B is still a good management tool.
