Microsoft Windows 10 Professional users all across the world are firing up their computers this morning and they are being told that their computers are running pirated versions of Windows 10.
This is a lie. Do not freak out. You are fine. The problem is Microsoft's.
Microsoft have done something monumentally stupid, they are aware that they have done something monumentally stupid, and they are working to correct the error of their monumentally stupid ways and fix the monumentally stupid thing that they have done.
They are asking for a day or two to figure out what they have broken and how best to fix it while maintaining their rigorous schedule of breaking other things.
Please, know that YOU are not at fault here. Microsoft are in the wrong (per the Licensing Agreement that nobody ever reads), and they are being stupid about it.
This BUG affects users of Windows 10 Professional no matter the version or method of installation.
Retail installs
Digitally downloaded upgrades from Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate and Windows 8.1 (you poor bastards!)
All other legitimate ways that you could end up with Windows 10 Professional on your computer.
We're all potential victims.

Most you'll get is an overlay in the bottom right corner saying "Activate Windows", you'll be fine if you're affected.

Update: They fixed their monumentally stupid mistake. I just logged back into my machine and tried to activate it manually and it activated.
All is well.
Now they can continue to figure out why the October Update is wiping hard drives. You know, the little things.

If you still have all of your personal data, you do not have the October update. Once they realized it was wiping hard drives, they halted the rollout. It is on hold until they can fix it.

It seems I wasn't affected.
A good thing with Win10 Pro, if you know where to search, you can disable all automatic updates. So i have never to worry about installing an update that has bugs :>

Am I the only one here not having issues with the October update?
I didn't have any issues, but I am hearing Windows 10 has been having a lot of update issues this year, they need more work on their updating, it's an operating system after all, not a game patch!

I'm talking in general regarding the October Update. I know that I'm not affected by the Activation issue, but Windows 10 Home users were affected by the other bugs (Deleting personal files, the Zip Utility overwriting files, File Associations messed up etc.), and I've had none of those issues.
