I've seen that video. However, it does not take into account what we have actually seen on screen.
Read through some of this thread....I've done similar comparisions on the ship MSD's and frankly, Star Trek's scaling is a mess

I just rewatched (this morning) the Last episode of Season 1 and all the episodes of season 2, where/when/by who (on screen) does it state that the Enterprise is that size, because I can't find anything on Google that says that.
Remember, for it to be truly canon, it has to happen on screen. Anything else that happens off screen (interviews, books, etc) is pseudo canon until confirmed or contradicted on screen. The only reason we know how big the TOS enterprise is from a Graphic that appeared on screen in The Enterprise Incidient.
(Also, I'm just nitpicking here, but half of 442 is 221, the TOS enterprise was 289m, if 442m is the Disco-prise length, then it physically and mathmattically can't be 50% larger)

Man, way to kill the mood Bridger! So many positive reviews in this thread...then this ^^^!
I have not been a huge fan of Discovery, and I'm still not a fan of the too fast pacing of the episodes, but I have to give them credit...character development has been consistently improving this season, and storytelling, although still over the top in many cases, is becoming more Star Trekky than last season. They are, rather blatantly, addressing concerns over canon, which is good, if not a little desperate seeming, as they try to recover from fan lashback from season one.
I do wish that the writing was better. Currently, it is very predictable. Turn your brain off and it is fine. Production values are very good! Pacing is too fast. Slow it down. Tell a more well-rounded story within each episode, and extend the season if needed to complete the full plotline. I love the addition of Anson Mount as Captain Pike! He is a very starfleet type of captain. Sonequa Martin Green is a very emotive actress...maybe too much so! She has always bothered me in her roll as Burnham. Everything that she's asked to do seems overacted by half. She seems self-righteous, but not in a Vulcan way...more of a that's who the actress is way. Discovery is getting better, in many ways because the emphasis isn't totally on Burnham anymore. We are getting to know the full cast, to varying degrees, more than in season one. I appreciate that!
In spite of, and because of everything that I've just said, I'm voting that I enjoyed this episode. Mostly because I believe that Discovery is course correcting, in a positive direction, and I reward and encourage behavior that improves the overall result. Were there flaws with this episode? Yes. Is Discovery becoming more of what we expect from Star Trek. Yes. Because of the later, I more enjoyed this episode than most of the previous episodes, and I'm encouraged for the future of Discovery!

At this point, I have enough hindsight to be grateful to be one of the vindicated few who begged folks to "give Discovery a chance" a year ago, despite myself being borderline anti-Disco hipster. The Short Treks gave me a bit of hope (and really I kinda liked the Mirror arc of the first Season, and the lore behind the Torchbearer and Beacon of Kahless), and Season 2 has YET to disappoint me. Jonathan Frakes shined in yet another directoral turn in E2, E3 was just "fun," and this past episode not only tugged at the hearstrings, but really represented a lovesong to proper Trekkies and reminded us what Star Trek and "family" are supposed to be all about. Absolutely FANTASTIC season, so far!

Then The TOS size is not canon either because the size of the sets do not fit into a 289 meter ship which contradicts the graphic.
The Discoprise size is what CBS told Eaglemoss and Star Trek Timlines, just like how CBS told Cryptic how large the Disco is. The graphic seen in Discovery contradicts the ship we see on screen.
Maybe canon is just a myth.

Honestly getting bogged down with arguments about ship sizes is pointless in Trek. If there is one thing that is consistent then it is that ship sizes are consistently in a mess!
Even back in DS9 the Defiant changed size depending on the angle of the shot or what the fx required for a scene. There’s never been a consistent size for any of the ships and even lengths etc stated on screen can vary wildly over the course of a series.

I'm going to have to disagree, while this did tone down her screentime in this episode, and give more time to other characters, they didn't really get rid of the know it all problem I find with the character. "Oh hi captain, I managed to track Spocks ship after it left our sensors, lol." of course she did, because Burnham, they could have let another crew member do something extraordinary like that, but nah.
I did like that they actually had a proper crew briefing, that was good, not seen them do that really before, also the introduction of the Discovery womens dress variation was interesting, don't think we've seen that onscreen before.
Ending was odd, I feel they could have gotten the point across that the characters were high, without the visual effects, leave it up to the viewer to imagine what is going on inside their heads, part of it seemed like it was thrown in for a quick laugh to distract the viewer from Tilly vanishing. Personally, I would have preferred it to just go on the acting alone, not with the visuals.
I thought the episode was okay, I didn't hate it, it had some good moments, as well as my lingering problems with the show.
